Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship For 2014-15 :
Minorities & Backward Classes welfare Department, Govt of Odisha invites Online applications for award of Merit cum Means based scholarship for the year 2014-15 to meritorious students of Odisha belonging to the notified Minority Communities (i.e. Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Jain and Parsi) pursuing Technical/Professional Courses at Under Graduate / Post Graduate level in recognized Institutions under recognized Universities of Odisha and other recognized Universities of other States of India .

Eligibility :
1. Students must be permanent resident of Odisha.
2. Income ceiling of parents shall not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum.
3. Minimum eligibility mark is 50%,secured in the last final examination of the Board/ University .
4. 30% scholarship is earmarked for girl students.

Application Procedure :
Eligible students are advised to fill up their application ONLINE and obtain a print out of the duly filled in application forms and submit the same along with all supporting documents to concerned District Welfare Officer through their respective Institute where studying. Only Online Applications will be accepted and no request for accepting Offline applications will be entertained.

Note :
The students who have availed MCM scholarship for the year 2013-14 and not changed their course shall apply for RENEWAL scholarship. Other applicants to apply for FRESH scholarship.

Application Submission Procedure :
Submission of hard copies of applications and documents with recommendation of the Head of the Institution before the DWOs is mandatory. Without receipt of hard copies within due date the application shall be liable to be rejected.

Note :
Applicants are advised to be careful mention the accurate Bank Account Information in the specified Box of the online application. The applicant himself/herself will be responsible for any sort of wrong entry/mismatching of Bank Account related information.

Documents to be enclosed :
1. One Passport size photograph duly signed,
2. Certificates in support of educational qualification/Income/Caste duly attested,
3. Self-attested copy of the 1st page of Savings Bank Pass Book mentioning correct A/C no, IFSC code etc.

Fresh Scholarship :
1. Last date for submission of online application 30th September,2014
2. Last date for submission of duly signed printed version of online application alongwith required documents by the students to the Head of the Institute 10th October, 2014
3. Last date of Scrutiny of Online Applications by DWO 20th October,2014
4. Last date of Scrutiny of Online applications by State/UT Department 31th October,2014
5. Generation of Merit List and Submission of Fresh proposals by State/UT Department 1st November to 5th November,2014

Renewal Scholarship :
1. Last date for submission of online application 15th November,2014
2. Last date for submission of duly signed printed version of online application alongwith required documents by the students to the Head of the Institute 20th November,2014
3. Last date of Scrutiny of Online Applications by DWO 25th November,2014
4. Last date of Scrutiny of Online applications by State/UT Department 5th December,2014
5. Generation of Merit List and Submission of Fresh proposals by State/UT Department 2014 7th December 2014
