NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY & NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION (I), 2013

An Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 14th April, 2013 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 131st Course, and for the 93rd Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 02 January, 2014. The candidates Joining Indian Naval Academy would undergo 4 years B.Tech Course and would be given an opportunity to join Executive and Technical Branches of the Navy subject to availability of vacancies.

Educational Qualification :
1.Assistant Professor (Paediatrics) :
(i) A degree of Doctor of Medicine (Paediatrics) from any Recognised University or Medical Institution in India OR

(i) A recognized Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Holders of Medical qualification included in Part II of the Third Schedule to the said Act should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub section (3) of Section 13 of the Indian Medical Act 1956
(ii) Completion of compulsory rotating internship
(iii) Post Graduate Medical Qualification in Anaesthesia
(iv) One year experience in Anaesthesia in case of Post Graduate Degree holder and three years in case of Post Graduate Diploma holder.

3. Assistant Professor (English) :
(i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed at the Master's Degree level in English from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University
(ii) Must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research or similar test accredited by the University Grants Commission
(iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in clauses (i) and (ii) candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of National Eligibility Test (NET)/State Level Eligibility Test (SLET)/State Eligibility Test (SET) for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions
(iv) National Eligibility Test (NET)/State Level Eligibility Test (SLET)/State Eligibility Test (SET) shall also not be required for such Master's Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

4. Assistant Professor (Political Science) :

(iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in clauses (i) and (ii) candidates who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the min- imum eligibility condition of National Eligibility Test (NET)/State Level Eligibility Test (SLET)/State Eligibility Test (SET) for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.

(e) must have passed in the first or second division the Pre-Professional/ Pre-Technological Examination of any Indian University or a recognised Board, with Mathematics and at least, one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination conducted one year after the Higher Secondary or Pre-University stage; or

(f) must have passed the first year examination under the five year Engineering Degree Course of a University; provided that before joining the Degree Course, he/she passed the Higher Secondary Examination or pre-University or equivalent Examination in the first or second division. Candidates who have passed the first year Examination of the five-year Engineering Degree Course in the first or second division may also apply provided the first year Examination is conducted by a University; or

(g) must have passed in the first or second division the Pre-Degree Examination of the Universities of Kerala and Calicut with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the Examination.

Age Limits : A candidate must have attained the age of 17 years and must not have attained the age of 21 years on 1st January, 2014, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1993 and not later than 1st January, 1997.

Penalty For Wrong Answers : Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
