The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes to engage 13 research personnel viz., 02-Senior Research Fellows, 05-Junior Research Fellows, 04-Research Biologists and 02-Project Assistants (Indian national only) through a walk-in-interview on Monday, 22nd July 2013.
1. Project Title : Long term monitoring of tigers, co-predators & prey species in Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve and adjoining landscapes, Maharashtra, India.

Essential Qualification : Masters’ Degree in Zoology/Life Science/Botany/Forestry/Environmental Science with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University with minimum of two year’s research experience
2. Project Title : Economics of living in the wild: cost benefit analysis for the forest corridor linking the Rajaji National Park and the Corbett Tiger Reserve.

Essential Qualifications: Masters Degree in Botany/Zoology/Life Science/Environmental Science/Wildlife Science/with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of impact assessment process and valuation framework; working experience of conducting Environmental Impact Assessment in key development sectors (e.g. energy projects, water resources, mining and transportation) with especial focus on biodiversity relevant impact assessment. Basic knowledge of the concept of landscape level planning and strategic environmental impact assessment and adequate skills for undertaking computer related spatial planning and analysis and development of GIS based outputs is highly desirable.
Consolidated Emoluments: Rs 17,000/-month
Period: 17 months from the date of engagement.
II. Name of the post: Project Assistant

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Science/Computer Applications or three years Diploma in Computer Science from a recognised University/Institution with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications:
(i) Three year experience in programming, web designing and Desk Top Publishing data publishing
(ii) Proven experience of computer and web-based applications;
(iii) Knowledge of operating system MS-DOS, MS Windows, Application Software viz. MS Office etc.
(iv) Proven experience of computer and web based applications, web designing, data publishing, portal management publishing and preparing scientific reports/documentation.
Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 12,750/-month
Period: 17 months from the date of engagement

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institution of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. The institute has been assigned a task by the National Tiger Conservation Authority, Govt. of India, to cover major landscapes for ‘Monitoring of tigers, co-predators, prey and their habitat in India’. The WII wishes to engage 35 Research Biologists (31-Field Component and 04-Genetics Component) on a contractual basis for the project titled “All India monitoring of tigers, co-predators and prey”. The assignment will be up to 31st March 2015 initially, which may be extended for further period(s) according to project requirements and satisfactory performance of the individuals.

ii) Experience of working with communities/ Institutions for the conservation of coastal and marine biodiversity.
Emoluments: Consolidated Rs. 20,000/- month.
Period of Engagement: 4 months (November 2013 to February 2014)
Duty Station: WII-Dehradun with frequent visits to Project States
Age: Not more than 35 years as on 28 October, 2013.
