SELECTION OF SEMI SKILLED TRADESMEN ON CONTRACT BASIS

To meet requirements for the IAC and FPV Projects, Cochin Shipyard Limited, invites applications for appointment to the following positions of Semi Skilled Tradesmen on Contract Basis.

Name of the post : Semi Skilled Tradesmen

Remuneration : Consolidated pay of Rs. 7500/-pm and compensation for extra hours of work limited to Rs. 2280/- pm.
Period of Contract : The period of contract will be two years.
Age : Age shall not exceed 30 years as on 01 Nov 2012.

Qualification : Pass in SSLC, ITI (NTC) in the respective trade and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
Experience : Minimum of three years post qualification experience/ training in a Shipyard or Engineering Industry.

Method of Selection : Walk in interview and practical test will be conducted from 0900 Hrs to 1300 hrs on 01st Nov 2012 to 07th Nov 2012 at Cochin Shipyard Indoor Stadium, Thevara. Candidates meeting the requirements will only be shortlisted and they need to attend a practical test on the same day or on a later date as fixed by the Shipyard.

How to Apply :
i) Application format can be downloaded from the website.
ii) Those fulfilling age, prescribed qualification and experience may attend the walk- in –interview and practical test at Cochin Shipyard Indoor Stadium, Thevara on on 01st Nov 2012 to 07th Nov 2012 between 0900 Hrs to 1300 hrs.
The candidates should bring the following.
a) Filled in Application in the prescribed format
b) Two copies of recent passport size photographs.
c) Original Certificates and testimonials, in proof of age/date of birth, educational qualifications, experience etc and attested copies of the certificates.
d) Caste certificate in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Non-creamy layer certificate in the case of OBC and Disability Certificate issued by the Medical Board in the case of Persons with Disabilities.
e) Tight fitting cotton working dress and safety shoes for attending the practical test.

Date & Time of Walk in Interview : 01st Nov 2012 to 07th Nov 2012 between 0900 Hrs to 1300 hrs.

Note :
i) The vacancies are purely on contract basis for a specific period of two years and Cochin Shipyard is not liable to offer appointment during or after the completion of contract period of the selected candidates.

ii) Only those candidates who have passed SSLC and ITI in the relevant trade and in possession of National Apprenticeship certificate need attend the interview. Applicants without the certificates will not be allowed to attend the interview.

iii) Shipyard reserves the right to stipulate a minimum mark in the qualifying examination in order to reduce the number of candidates to be called for interview/practical test.

iv) Experience obtained after acquiring the qualification will only be considered. Applicants meeting the eligibility requirements and short listed only will be allowed to appear for Interview/test. Candidates are advised to make sure that they are meeting the eligibility requirements to attend the interview.

v) Candidates should bring original certificates towards proof of age, qualification, experience, caste, identity and address proof etc and attested copies of certificates , and their candidature will be considered on the strength of those certificates. If at any stage it is found that any information furnished is false/incorrect or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria, the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/rejected. No correspondence regarding the rejection of candidature in case of ineligibility will be entertained.
