RECRUITMENT RALLY FOR GROUP ‘X’ (TECHNICAL) TRADES AT
CO-OPERATIVE COLLEGE, JAMSHEDPUR (JHARKHAND)

Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from the designated districts of State of Jharkhand to become an airman. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades will be held at Co-operative College, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) from 08 December 2012 to 15 December 2012 as per the Selection Programme given below;
REGISTRATION SCHEDULE : All eligible candidates are required to fill the Registration Form (typed on A4 size paper) format and report to registration venue along with duly filled registration format and original documents. The Registration for the recruitment rally will be done at Co-operative College, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) from 8 AM to 1 PM as per following schedule.

SELECTION PROGRAMME : The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7 AM onwards every day as per the details given below. Candidates reporting up to 10 AM at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.
I. KHUNTI DISTRICT OF STATE OF JHARKHAND 10 December 2012 : Written Test and Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades.
11 December 2012 : Interview of candidates passed Written Test and PFT on 10 December 2012. Trade Allocation Test (TAT) and Medical Examination for candidates qualified in Interview.
II. EAST SINGHBHUM DISTRICT OF STATE OF JHARKHAND : 12 December 2012 : Written Test and Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades.
13 December 2012 : Interview of candidates passed Written Test and PFT on 12 December 2012. Trade Allocation Test (TAT) and Medical Examination for candidates qualified in Interview.
14 & 15 December 2012 : RESERVE DAYS
DATE OF BIRTH BLOCK : Candidate should be born between 01 January 1992 to 31 March 1996 (both days inclusive)
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION :
(a) Candidate should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. OR
(b) Three year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Automobile or Computer Science or Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology) with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute.
MEDICAL STANDARDS :-
General Medical Standards for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades are as follows: (i) Height : Minimum height required is 152.5 cms. (ii) Chest : Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm (iii) Weight : Proportionate to height and age.
(iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable. (v) Hearing : Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately. (vi) Dental : Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (vii) Health : Candidate should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
JOB SPECIFICATION :
Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades involve jobs as given below;
(a) Automobile Fitter.
(b) Electronics Fitter.
(c) Electrical Fitter.
(d) Mechanical System Fitter.
(e) Structures Fitter.
(f) Propulsion Fitter.
(g) Workshop Fitter (Smith).
(h) Workshop Fitter (Mechanical).
(j) Weapon Fitter.
SELECTION PROCEDURE : VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY : Original Certificates, Mark Sheets and other required documents {NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate, Son of Air Force personnel certificate (SOAFP), Domicile certificate etc.) will be scrutinized and verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the prima-facie eligibility. Detailed verification will be carried out in respect of candidates who pass Written Test later.

PUBLISHING OF AISL : The All India Select List (AISL) will be displayed at 10 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Bihta, Patna (Bihar) 31 JANUARY 2013. A copy of the Display List will be sent to District Magistrate of Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) (through Airmen Selection Centre) and also available at Indian Air Force website

What is the pay scale for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades?
PAY & ALLOWANCES:
During training, a stipend of Rs. 8,550/-pm will be paid. On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Dearness Allowance (DA), for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades will be Rs. 21,414/-per month (approximately) [Pay in Pay Band – (Rs. 7,050/-) + Grade Pay – (Rs. 2,000/-) + Military Service Pay (MSP) – (Rs. 2,000/-) + X Group Pay – (Rs. 1,400/-) + DA @ 72% - (Rs. 8,964/-)] which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 37,788/-per month (approximately) [(Pay in Pay Band – (Rs. 13,770/-) + Grade Pay – (Rs. 4,800/-) + Military Service Pay (MSP) – (Rs. 2,000/-) + X Group Pay – (Rs. 1,400/-) + DA @ 72% - (Rs. 15,818/-)] as per sixth pay commission depending upon the rank attained.
Other allowances such as Transport allowance, Composite personal maintenance allowance (CPMA), Leave Ration allowance (LRA), Family planning allowance, HRA etc. are also admissible to airmen
All candidates who pass the written test are to undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates completing the PFT in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds will be awarded additional marks on a sliding scale. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
