Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from designated Districts of the State of Karnataka to become airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {For Automobile Technician and Indian Air Force (Police) trades and Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades will be held at Rangamandir, Tank Bund Road, Bellary (Karnataka) from 20 July 2012 to 27 July 2012 as per the Selection Programme given below.

SELECTION PROGRAMME :
The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7 AM onwards as per the details given below. Candidates reporting up to 10 AM at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.
Note :
The Recruitment Test is not for selection as Officers/Pilots/Navigators.

DATE OF BIRTH BLOCK : Candidates should be born between 01 July 1991 to 30 September 1995

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION :
(a) For Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {For Automobile Technician and Indian Air Force (Police)} Trades Candidate should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science, Arts or Commerce subjects or equivalent vocational courses with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Vocational course should be recognized by Association of Indian Universities. OR Three year Diploma in any stream of Engineering from a Government recognised Polytechnic Institute.
(b) For Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades. Candidate should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. OR Three year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Automobile or Computer Science or Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology) with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute.

MEDICAL STANDARDS :
General Medical Standards for both Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {For Automobile Technician and Indian Air Force (Police)} trades and Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades are as follows:
(i) Chest : Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm
(ii) Weight : Proportionate to height and age.
(iii) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.
(iv) Hearing : Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
(v) Dental : Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
(vi) Health : Candidate should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades involve jobs as given below;
Automobile Fitter.
Electronics Fitter.
Electrical Fitter.
Mechanical System Fitter.
Structures Fitter.
Propulsion Fitter.
Workshop Fitter (Smith).
Workshop Fitter (Mechanical).
Weapon Fitter.

VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY : Certificates / Mark Sheets and other required documents will be scrutinized and verified at the examination venue on the days of written test.

PUBLISHING OF AISL :
The All India Select List (AISL) will be displayed at 7 Airmen Selection Centre, No.1 Cubbon Road, Bangalore (Karnataka) on 17 AUGUST 2012. A copy of the Display List will be sent to District Magistrate of Bellary (Karnataka) (through Airmen Selection Centre) and also available at Indian Air Force website. The inclusion of names of the candidates in the AISL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the Selection Test.

Written Test:
Written test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English Paper. Duration of the written test will be 45 minutes for Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {For Automobile Technician and Indian Air Force (Police)} trades and 60 minutes for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades. Written test will be conducted in the following subjects:
(a) For Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) : English as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE {For Automobile Technician and and Reasoning & General Awareness Indian Air Force (Police)} (RAGA).
(b) For Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades : English, Physics & Mathematics as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE.
Candidates are to qualify in each paper separately Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
