Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test :
In accordance with the guidelines of the U.G.C., the Kumaun University announces holding of the U-SET on 29.10.2017 (SUNDAY) for determining the eligibility of candidates for appointment of Assistant Professors in the State of Uttarakhand.
Kumaun University will conduct U-SET in 27 subjects (listed under Item C on page 3) at 11 selected cities of Uttarakhand (listed under Item D on page 4).
Eligibility :
** The candidates must have Master’s Degree recognized by U.G.C. Candidates having Post Graduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/Institute or Foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by any Foreign University/ Institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master's degree of recognized Indian Universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (aiuweb.org).
** Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent from universities/institutions recognised by UGC and State Government are eligible for this Test.
The OBC (Non- creamy layer)/SC/ST/PWD(persons with disability) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent are eligible for this Test.
** The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in U-SET.
** Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying master’s degree (Final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test.
However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for the post of Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination with at least 55% marks (50% in case of OBC(Non- creamy layer)/SC/ST/PWD(persons with disability) category candidates).
Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of U-SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
Those candidate who qualify U-SET Examination will be issued the certificate after they have passed their Master’s Degree examination or equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH/VH/OBC Non Creamy Category candidates) and submit their P.G. Mark sheet within two years from the date of declaration of result of the U-SET examination.
** There is no upper age limit for appearing in the U-SET.
** SC/ST/ PWD/OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates must ensure that they possess attested copy of their category certificate and the latest valid non creamy layer certificate (not older than one year) in case of OBC. The certificate must be in candidate’s own name only.
The candidates will be considered as GENERAL Category if they fail to produce valid Category Certificate and the latest non creamy layer certificate(in case of OBC) released by Uttarakhand Govt. in support of their claim for relaxation in marks, fee, etc.
HOW TO APPLY :
** Candidate seeking admission to the U-SET must apply online at U-SET website (usetonline.com) with a link at the Kumaun University website (kunainital.ac.in).
** Before applying online for U-SET, the candidate must deposit the required fee through links available under ‘PAY FEE’ button of the website. This link will redirect the candidate to the website of State Bank of India for depositing the fee.
** The fee can be deposited online or by cash at any branch of State bank of India through Challan. The candidate would be asked to choose between both the options for fee payment by the Bank. Choose desired option and follow the instructions.
** When the candidate submits the fee, the Bank would ask for some personal details, like candidate’s name, Father's name, Date of Birth, Category, Mobile Number, Email address etc.
All the information will be mandatory and would be transferred to the candidate’s U-SET record and cannot be modified later. So accuracy of all the information should be ensured by the candidate while depositing the fee.
** The candidate will be given a unique 10 Character Bank Transaction Number (e.g. DU12345678) by the Bank. The U-SET nodal agency would receive the fee details after 24 hours of completing the transaction with State Bank of India. The candidate would be allowed to submit his/her online Application only after his/her fee details have been received from the Bank.
** The candidate will have to supply the Bank Transaction Number (given By Bank like DU12345678) and Date of Birth (given at the time of fee payment) before starting the filling up of the online Application.
System will verify the fee payment details and if found matching with the Database provided by State Bank of India, the candidate will be allowed to proceed. Generally, it will take 1 day to update the fee detail however, in some cases it may take 2 days also.
** Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the scanned images as below:-
-- Passport size photograph in JPG format of minimum 4kb to 40 kb. The dimension of the photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
-- Signature in JPG format of minimum 4kb to 30 kb. The dimension of the signature should be 3.5 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (height).
** After filling up all the details for online Application for U-SET, and confirming the correctness of the same, the System will generate a unique Registration Number and Password, which would be communicated to the candidate via SMS and email address provided by him/her at the time of fee payment.
** The U-SET Coordinating Institution will not inform the candidate separately regarding the seating arrangement/Venue of Test.
** Application submitted after 24th September 2017 will not be accepted.
** Before applying online, candidates are advised to go through detailed notification available on the U-SET website (usetonline.com) also having a link at Kumaun University website (.
** In order to avoid last minute rush, the candidates are advised to apply early enough. Kumaun University will not be responsible for network problems or any other problem of this nature in submission of online application during last days.
Documents :
The candidates need not attach any document in online application. However, they are advised to keep a printout on separate A4 size papers of their online Application form.
Candidates declared finally qualified will have to submit the following documents duly attested by a competent authority along with a copy of the application form:
1. Copy of fee paid/ Challan.
2. Final Year Mark Sheet of Master’s Degree or P.G. Diploma of equivalent Examination (in case of candidates who have passed Master’s Degree)
3. Marriage certificate/Gazette Copy (in case of any change in name)
4. Caste Certificate/Validity Certificate (SC/ST) issued by Competent Authority of Uttarakhand Govt. supporting the claim.
5. Valid Non Creamy Layer (OBC) Certificate (not older than one year) issued by Competent Authority of the Government of Uttarakhand for OBC Category candidates.
6. Medical Certificate given by Competent Authority in prescribed format in case of Persons with disability (PWD) candidates.
All the above documents duly attested by a Gazetted Officer along with a hard copy of the application form must be submitted to the Member Secretary, U-SET, 2017 Cell, The Hermitage, Kumaun University, Nainital – 263 002 by hand or by post in an envelope of size 36 cm x 25 cm. after announcement of the U-SET, 2017 Result.
Check List For Filling The Online Application Form :
The candidates are advised to ensure the following points before filling the Online Application Forms:
1. Whether they fulfil the eligibility conditions for the Test as prescribed under the heading, ‘CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY’ as given at Item B on Page number 3.
2. That they have filled their CATEGORY, viz. OBC (Non- creamy layer)/SC/ST/PWD (persons with disability), in the relevant column correctly.
3. That they have filled their Subject and U-SET Examination Centre and Code in the relevant column correctly.
4. That the Persons with disability (PWD) candidates have filled the relevant column in the Online Application Form. Only PWD candidates have to fill this column and the others have to leave it blank.
5. Whether they have kept a printout of application form for their own record.
6. Whether they have uploaded their scanned recent photograph and signature as mentioned under Item J (7).
