Dr.Muthulakshmi Reddy Inter-Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme :
The Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Memorial Inter caste marriage assistance scheme is being implemented by the Tamil Nadu Government to abolish untochability in the community. Inter caste marriage Assistance Scheme.

Objectives of the Schemes :
To abolish caste and community feelings based on birth and wipe out the evils of un-touch ability by encouraging inter-caste marriage.

Eligibility Criteria :
The following two categories of inter-caste marriages can avail benefits

Category I :
The assistance is provided to newly married couples of whom one spouse should be from Scheduled caste / Scheduled tribe and the other from a different Community.

Category II :
The assistance is provided to a newly married couple of whom one spouse is from other community (forward community) and the other from the Backward Class / Most Backward Class Community.

Assistance Provided & Education qualification :
Cheque of Rs. 15,000/-, NSC Bond of Rs. 10,000 and gold coin of 4 grams. (Education qualification not required. )
Cheque of Rs. 30,000/-, NSC Bond of Rs. 20,000 and gold coin of 4 grams. (The bride should have passed Degree/ Diploma, at the time of marriage.)

Income Limit :
No income limit

Age Limit :
Should have completed 18 years at the time of Marriage.

Time Limit For Sending The Application :
With in 2 years from the date of Marriage.

How To Avail : (Officers to be contacted )
1. District social Welfare Officer, at District Level
2. Extention Officer (SW) at Block Level.

Certificate To Be Enclosed With Application :
1. Marriage Invitation.
2. Marriage Photo.
3. Age Certificate of the bride.
4. Community Certificate of the bride & bride groom.
5. Nativity Certificate of the bride and bride groom.

Probable Time Limit For Processing Applications :
Within 15 days from the date of receipt of the application.
