Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Excise Constable / Lady Excise Constable.

Name of the Posts and Pay scale :
Excise Constable / Lady Excise Constable in the pay scale of Rs. 5,400-25,200/- (Pay Band-2) with Grade Pay Rs. 2,600/-, plus other admissible allowances.

Number of Vacancies : 1,267

Age :- The candidates must not be less than 18 years and not more than 27 years of age as on 01.01.2013 (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 1986 and not later than 1st January, 1995).

Educational Qualification :- The candidates must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or equivalent examination under any Board recognized by the State Government or the Central Government.

METHOD OF RECRUITMENT :
Candidature of the candidates will be subject to verification of the document submitted regarding their claim for eligibility at a later stage. Eligible candidates will be called for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) before the Range Recruitment Board.

PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT TEST (PMT) :
The height and weight of the candidates will be measured by Electronic Machines.

PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET) :
Those who qualify in PMT will be eligible for PET.
i) For Male Candidates :- Long distance run 1600 meters in maximum 06 minute and 30 seconds.
ii) For Female Candidates :- Long distance run 400 meters in maximum 02 minutes. Timing of individual runner shall be taken with the help of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device) Technology.

HOW TO APPLY :-
The prescribed application form with detailed Information Brochure will be available from the office of the Superintendent of Police of all districts and the office of the Commissioner of Police of all Police Commissionerate (except Kolkata) from 24.01.2013 to 24.02.2013. Application Form will be issued to the candidates on production of Bank Draft / Postal Order of Rs.150/- (One hundred fifty only) or Caste Certificate (for the candidates from Schedule Tribe / Scheduled Caste Community of West Bengal only) or Identity Card issued by the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal in case of Exempted Category candidate.

Fees :- Candidates must deposit a fee of Rs. 150/-(Rupees one hundred fifty only) in the form of A/C Payee Demand Draft from any Nationalized Bank / IPO purchased in favour of “West Bengal Police Recruitment Board” payable at Kolkata. No application will be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fees. No fee will be charged from candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe category and candidates from Exempted Category of West Bengal only.

The Application Form without fees of such candidates will not be accepted if the same is not accompanied with attested photocopy of SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority / Identity Card of Exempted Category issued by the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal in a prescribed format. OBC candidates of West Bengal are however required to pay aforesaid usual fee. NO EXEMPTION OF FEE IS AVAILABLE TO SC/ST/OBC CANDIDATES OF “OTHER STATES”. No claim for refund of fee will be entertained.

Duly filled up Application Form along with two photographs and copies of all certificates are to be placed in an envelope of size 34 cm X 26 cm. The application form should not be folded. The envelope should be properly sealed. On the top of this envelope please write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF EXCISE CONSTABLE / LADY EXCISE CONSTABLE - 2013” On the right side of the envelope please write “TO THE CHAIRMAN, WEST BENGAL POLICE RECRUITMENT BOARD, ARAKSHA BHAVAN (PCC), SECTOR-II, BLOCK-DJ, SALT LAKE CITY, KOLKATA-700 091”.

Application form may be deposited at the same place from where it was issued or can be sent directly to the Chairman, West Bengal Police Recruitment Board by post. On the left side of the envelope please write “From” followed by your name and full address. Please ensure that the application form reaches West Bengal Police Recruitment Board before the last date of receipt of application i.e. 25.02.2013. The Board will not be responsible for postal delays and applications arriving at the respective issuing offices after the last date will not be entertained.
