Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) – Cauvery Basin Refinery (CBR), located at Panangudi, Nagore, Nagapattinam District intends to engage Trade and Technician Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 purely for one year Apprenticeship Training. The details of the Trades / Discipline, eligibility, stipend, etc are as follows

Stipend payable : 3,000/- p.m. (inclusive of all)
Upper age limit as on 31.12.2012 : Candidates should not have completed 23 years of age.

Qualification :
i) SSLC/10th pass with ITI Certificate affiliated to NCVT securing minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST)
ii) 12th pass for COPA with ITI Certificate affiliated to NCVT securing minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST)

Selection Methodology : Selection will be based on the percentage of marks scored by the candidates in the relevant qualifying exam. In case of more than one candidate scoring the same percentage of marks at the cut-off level, candidate who has secured higher marks in SSLC/Matric examination will be considered. If the marks secured in both the examinations are equal, candidate whoever is senior as per the date of birth will be considered. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be as per the Apprentices Act.

CPCL invites applications from bright, young and energetic persons of Indian Nationality for the position of REFINERY OPERATOR (CHEMICAL). The number of vacancies indicated are tentative which may increase or decrease in the relevant categories at the absolute discretion of the Management.

Age Limit: 30 years as on 31.08.2013

Qualification :
First Class Diploma (55% for SC candidates) in Chemical / Petroleum / Petro-Chemical Engg. / Technology. (OR)
First Class Degree (55% for SC candidates) in B.Sc. with Chemistry as a major subject.

Experience : Minimum TWO years of relevant post qualification work experience preferably in Process Units in Refining / Chemical / Petro-chemical / Fertilizer plant having work experience related to operation of Fired Heaters, Exchangers, Compressors, Distillation Columns, Reactors, High-Pressure Vessels, Effluent Treatment Plant, Cooling towers, Tank farm, Pressurized storage bullets, Pump House, etc.

Mode of Selection: The selection shall be made through Written Test (to be held in Chennai only) and Personal Interview of the short listed candidates. The written test is scheduled on 15.09.2013.

Fee : Demand Draft for `200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) as application fee (non-refundable) in favour of "CHENNAI PETROLEUM CORPORATION LIMITED", payable at Chennai.
Mention your name and registration number on the reverse of the Demand Draft / attested copy of Caste Certificate, as applicable.
