Pay Band Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2000 / 1900 / 1800 : Minimum SSC/Matriculation or equivalent.

Selection Procedure : Selection will be conducted through Trial and Interview

RECRUITMENT AGAINST SCOUTS & GUIDES QUOTA IN CENTRAL RAILWAY FOR THE YEAR 2012-13

Central Railway invites applications from the citizens of India in the prescribed format from eligible and meritorious Scouts & Guides candidates for filling up 02 (Two) posts in Group ‘C’ Category in Pay Band-1 5200-20200 with Grade Pay 1900/- and 04 (Four) posts in erstwhile Group ‘D’ in Pay Band-1 5200-20200 with Grade Pay 1800/- against Scouts & Guides quota for the year 2012-13. The posts are open to all regardless of Community (UR, SC, ST & OBC).

Educational Qualification : Passed Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. I. A President’s Scout /Guide /Rover /Ranger (OR) Himalayan Wood Wadge Holder (OR) A Pre HWB Trained Scout leader / Advanced Trained Guide / Leader / Captain and
II. Should have been an active member of a Scouts Organization for at least 3 years in 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 & till present. And
III. Should have attended at least one event at National level and one or two events at State level (OR)
should have a good record of participation in Scouts /Guides activities at Unit /District level (At least one National level event is compulsory & is minimum eligibility).

Recruitment Process : The recruitment will be based on written test and interview. The candidates, whose applications are found eligible in all respects, will be assessed on the following basis. The eligible candidates will be called for written test and those who qualify in written test will be called for viva-voce.

i) Ex-Servicemen who have retired after putting in 15 years of service and have passed Army Class-I certificate or equivalent are eligible to apply, provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months attested service.
ii) Ex-servicemen who have already joined the Government Service on civil side after availing of other benefits given to them as Ex-Servicemen for further employment cannot claim Ex-Servicemen status for the purpose of this recruitment.
iii) Sons/Daughters/Wards of Ex-Servicemen are not eligible to apply for the post reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Age As On 01.01.2014: (Maximum age as on 1.1.2014 should not exceed as under:)
a. For UR candidates : 33 years + extent of military service + 3 years
b. For SC/ST candidates : 38 years + extent of military service + 3 years
c. For OBC candidates : 36 years + extent of military service + 3 year

Exam Fee: There is no examination fee.

Selection Procedure: The names of eligible candidates will be arranged in the order of merit on the basis of total length of military service and ex-Servicemen over and above 20% of vacancies will be called for verification of original documents. After verification of document a final panel will be prepared from this list. There will be neither written examination/interview nor Physical Efficiency Test.

Medical Examination: The candidate selected will be subjected to medical examination as per medical classification mentioned against the post allotted. Only those candidates who are medically fit would be offered appointment
