Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) will hold a competitive ARS Examination – 2012 as per the following scheme where in two separate examinations will be held as;
(i) Preliminary – ARS Examination – 2012 : 24.02.2013 (Sunday) from 02.00 pm to 04.00 pm. (ii) ARS – Main Examination – 2012 : 23.06.2013 (Sunday) from 10.00 am to 01.00 pm.

Educational Qualifications :
i) A candidate for the Agricultural Research Service must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in the concerned subject completed on or before 31.10.2012 from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed University of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or he/she must have qualification from a foreign University recognized as equivalent by the Government of India.
ii) The candidates having Master's degree from a foreign University must attach a certificate of equivalence and recognition of that degree issued by the University Commission/ Govt. of India.
Age Limit : A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years but not have attained the age of 32 years as on 01-08-2012 (i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1980 and not later than 1st August, 1991).
Fee : Crossed Bank Draft only drawn in favour of Secretary, A.S.R.B. and payable at New Delhi General / OBC : Examination fee : Rs. 500/- Woman/ Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe/ Physically Challenged : Rs. 20/-
Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the Bank Draft.
Minimum qualifying marks : General / OBC : Prelim ARS - 60% ; Main ARS - 55% SC / ST / Physically Challenged Person : Prelim ARS - 50% Main ARS - 50%
Examination Procedure :
(i) The Preliminary ARS Examination is a qualifying examination. Candidates qualifying in the preliminary ARS Examination only will be allowed to appear in the ARS – Main Examination.
(ii) Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in the written ARS - Main examination as may be fixed by the Board in their discretion shall be summoned for VIVA-VOCE for the Agricultural Research Service. After the Viva-Voce the candidates will be arranged by the Board in the order of merit in each category (professional subject-wise) as disclosed by the aggregate marks finally awarded to each candidate.

iii) The application form must be filled up by the candidate in his / her own handwriting only. A candidate must read the provisions in the Notification for ARS Examination - 2012 carefully and abide by the same.
iv) The envelopes containing the application form should be super scribed in bold letters as; "Application for ARS Examination- 2012".

Where will conduct the ARS main exam? Tell me the name of the cities.
Centres of Examination for ARS Main Examination will be decided by ASRB after the results of Preliminary – ARS Examination and shall be informed to all the eligible candidates.
However, the candidates can give the choices of the centres of examination for ARS-Main Examination from amongst following centres
