The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is an autonomous academic national institution under the administrative control of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology. The Institute has field stations at Kavalur & Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, Gauribidanur & an Extension Centre at Hoskote in Karnataka, and Leh & Hanle in J&K.

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the following position;

Name of the post : ENGINEER-C (COMPUTER)

Pay scale : Pay Band 3 Rs.15,600-39,100 + Grade pay Rs.6,600/-
Age : Below 45 years

Qualification : Essential:
i) B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent in a field of Electronics/ Electrical/ Electronics and Communication/ Telecommunication/ Computer Science with a recommended minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution. Percentage of marks is relaxable if the candidate’s technical experience is exceptional. Candidate should have considerable experience of 5 years in the field of Computer Programming/Computer Networking/ Internet & Web Technology. Or
ii) M.E. / M.Tech in the field of Electronics/Electrical/Electronics and Communication/Telecommunication/Computer Science with recommended minimum 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institution. Percentage of marks is relaxable if the candidate’s technical experience is exceptional. Candidate should have considerable experience of 3 years in the field of Computer Programming/Computer Networking/ Internet & Web Technology.

Desirable :
Redhat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Redhat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
Additionally, candidates with a Ph.D in a relevant field or in a science subject (Physics/Maths/Computer Science) may also apply if they possess the qualifications described above. In the event of selection to the position, the designation would be Scientist – C with the same scale of pay as mentioned above.
