Applications in Eight Copies are invited for the post of Two Associate Professors in the Centre for Excellence in Genomic Sciences, School of Biological Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, sanctioned by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The posts are purely on contract basis for the program period up to March 2012.

Essential Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Genomics / Biology / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry /Genetics / Bioinformatics or related areas in Life Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.A relaxation of 5% will be provided at the Master’s level for the SC / ST/Differently Abled

A relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks will be provided to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991.Ph.D. Degree in Genomics / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry /Genetics / Bioinformatics as evidenced from publications.

A minimum 8 years of teaching and /or research experience in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor with evidence of published work and minimum of 5 publications as books and / or research / policy papers.Research specialization in Genomic Sciences / Proteomics / Computational Biology or Bioinformatics after Ph.D with the evidence of research publications.

Scale of pay: Rs.37,400 – 67,000 + AGP 9000
