“Question paper for the Written Test shall be of Class X standard consisting of 100 multiple choice (Four) Objective type question aimed to assess the General Knowledge, General Awareness, Mathematical ability, Reasoning etc. of the candidates and the duration of the Written Test shall be 90 minutes ( 120 minutes for candidates who are allowed to use a scribe).”
The common Written Test against the aforesaid Employment Notice shall be held at different centres in Howrah/Kolkata area as per detailed schedule given below:

Reporting time of candidates :
1st session: 9.30 hrs
2nd session: 13.30 hrs
Time for issue of Duplicate Call letters : 10.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs
Individual Call letters including time and venue of the Written Test are being sent to the addresses of the candidates found provisionally eligible. Railway Recruitment Cell/SERly shall not be responsible for any postal delays or erroneous delivery of the Call letters. A list of provisionally eligible candidates and candidates whose applications have been rejected for the Written Test can be seen on our website rrcser.in.
Candidates whose application forms have been rejected are being informed separately alongwith reasons for rejection of their application.
In case any of the provisionally eligible candidates does not receive his/her Call letter five days before the scheduled date of his Written Test or the Call letter contains any discrepancy with respect to the candidate’s category, community, mismatch of photograph etc., the candidate may get the duplicate Call letter issued from the office of Railway Recruitment Cell/SERly as per schedule for issue of duplicate Call letters given at para 2 above.
Such candidates should bring with them two copies of recent coloured passport size photograph, documents in proof of their identity in original and a self attested copy of their Class X certificate. It may be noted that no duplicate/corrected Call letter shall be issued on other than the schedule dates specified above and in no case on the day of the Written Test. No free passes will be issued for SC/ST applicants for obtaining the duplicate Call letter and such Call letters will also not have any free travel facility for SC/ST candidates.
Separate letters have been despatched individually along with option forms in favour of Visually Handicapped candidates / candidates suffering from Cerebral palsy who have opted to use a scribe for the Written Test.
Such candidates may receive two Call letters – one for self only as applicable in normal cases and another Call letter along with admission letter for the scribe. Such candidates are accordingly advised to appear in the Written Test with the Call letter issued along with the admission letter for the scribe and to surrender the Call letter issued only for self before the Invigilator during the Written Test.
It may be clearly noted that the facility of a scribe is available only for such Visually Handicapped candidates / candidates suffering from Cerebral palsy who cannot read or write themselves owing to their disability. Only such candidates should submit the option form for scribe sent to them to Railway Recruitment Cell/SERly within 15.10.13. If any candidate is found subsequently to have used a scribe even though he is able to read and write without any assistance, his candidature shall be summarily rejected.

IMPORTANT NOTE :
** Merely calling a candidate for the Written Test does not in any way entitle him or her to an appointment in Railways. The candidature of each candidate is purely provisional and is subject to his/her fulfilling the eligibility criteria in all respects.
** Candidates are advised not to pay bribes to any person, to be beware of touts and other unscrupulous elements and not to fall in their trap. They may also note that RRC/SER does not issue any Offers of Appointment directly and that the entire Recruitment process is computerized and transparent.
