** Have experience of about one year in repairs and maintenance of steam power or diesel marine vessels.
** Provided that the age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate possessing exceptionally good qualifications or experience or both.

** Have three years of experience in dredging. Provided that the age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate possessing exceptionally good qualifications or experience or both.

** At least one year of experience as a Master/Chief officer on a foreign going ship

** Experience of surveying the vessel for atleast two years.

** Should be graduate of any faculty with at least higher second class or have a higher or equivalent degree of a recognised university with two years experience of public relations, journalism/marketing.
** Preference will be given to a person who has got Diploma in Journalism, public relations and / or marketing, having five years experience after obtaining Diploma.
