The searching process relies on the use of image descriptors. A descriptor can be characterized by two functions [/b]: Feature vector extraction and similarity computation. The feature vector encodes image properties, like color, texture and shape. Then selection of the initial image set employs Genetic Programming to discover a combination of descriptors that better characterizes the user perception of image similarity.
