MICROCONTROLLER BASED HEART RATE MONITOR
The design of a low-cost microcontroller based heart rate measuring device with LCD output. Heart rate of the subject is measured from the finger using optical sensors and the rate is then averaged and displayed on a text based LCD.
The circuit of microcontroller based heart rate meter consists of
High intensity ultra red LED for light illumination of the thumb behind the nail,
LDR as detector of change in the light intensity due to the flow of blood,
Microcontroller IC AT89C2051,
LM358 Operational amplifier,
ULN2003 current buffer, BC 557 pnp transistor, IN4007 rectifier diode, resistors and capacitors.

DESIGN OF FUZZY LOGIC CONTROLLER FOR AVR SYSTEM
This study involved the design and application of fuzzy control to the problem of automatic voltage regulation of a synchronous generator.
The method explored dealt with the use of
Binary Input-Output Fuzzy Associative Memories for control. 
Error and rate of change of voltage are used to maintain a constant output voltage
Software routines were written in ‘C’ language
Fuzzy controller was implemented in PC to control industrial size 5 KVA synchronous machine.
