Design & built contract, the Pavilion was completed 2 months ahead of schedule & has been used as a mock-up for apartments, sales & reservation office for the entire EMAAR West Side Marina Complex. Worked with Al Naboodah Laing Contractor as Chief Architect & headed 5 Junior Architects in finalizing Consultant’s design proposal to construction documents. The working drawings we produced at later stage was used as basis in constructing the Pavilion. Supervised & inspected its construction & assisted the Contractor in resolving all important issues on site.

Upon winning these two Towers in a competition, started the preliminary detail design & was assigned to lead the Team which would be responsible for all detailing works. When all the general arrangements were approved by the Client, finalized all construction documentations from external through internal part of the Towers. Duties included supervision of Cad draftsmen, detail designing, Cad drafting, coordination with different Suppliers & fabricators of alum cladding, curtain walling & metal doors. Introduced different typical standard details related to the two towers & intended for future use in other projects. Checked weekly assessment of team’s progress.

Unfortunately, the project did not materialised due to the recession in the Emirates.

Main assignment was focused in producing external wall detail sections & junctions to tie up with the approved facade elevations of all 16 apartment buildings. Headed the transformation of preliminary concept sketches to final detail presentation in AutoCAD format & acted as designer of different roof and all related external work details.

The entire set of construction drawings were finished on time but budgetary matters prevented the Client to build these prestigious projects. Participated in architectural design planning & production management from schematic to final stage.

Complex Villas for Minister Ahmed Al Tayer & Family, Dubai

Located in Nadd Al Shiba, the first phase of the complex included Minister’s Luxury Villa, Majlis and Mother’s Villa. The façade are all related to each other in character & style. At the later stage, 5 more villas were built on the same site by other members of the family. Duties included Job Captain role, site inspection, manual drafting, hand sketching, colouring presentations & mentoring draftsmen. Represented the Senior Architect in all site & progress meetings.

[b]2 prototype Villas for Emaratis which were projected to be built in Abu Dhabi up to 5,000 units. Using different approach of construction techniques & materials, the main objective of this project is to find solution in how save water & electricity effectively in a large scale & at the same time, control the excessive hot weather in the Emirates. The Villas reduce water consumption by 67% and energy by 50% over traditional designs. The Estidama Pearl rating system has been used on this project. Duties involved assisting Junior Staff in developing the right technique of preparing working drawings & providing 1 [/b]:1 scale details & other office standard documentation requirements. Attended meetings with different Suppliers to gather material quotations and samples for approval. Set Office standard detail drawing procedures for future documentation works. Instrumental in the delivery of documentation within agreed timeframe.

The centre with 300 stables is the only facility of its kind in the Gulf combining horse riding, polo, dressage and show jumping. This will be the new home for the Dubai Polo Club in which ponies will be dedicated to the sport. The new concept of massing differed from and related to the nearby facility thus blending with the adjacent Clubhouse and residential houses. The ranches included Stable Blocks, Hay Feed Stores, Farrier Building, Trainer’s Block, Loading and Unloading, Veterinary clinic and Landscaped Exercising Ground. Supervised the preparation of detail design development works and coordination of the facility from schematic to construction.

Once called the mother of all parks in the Emirates because of its originality & uniqueness in landscaping & traditional architecture, the very first in UAE. Responsible in introducing A3 detail format of “Cut & Paste” method to save time in laborious manual drafting.
