Job Description

Basic Responsibilities/ Functions:

The candidate will work in our design team on large commercial and residential projects. The job is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This position requires strong skills in architectural design and coordination of large projects.

The candidate is expected to prepare plans, design and working drawings, technical specifications, perspectives, basis of design, design analysis, reports, studies, and other architectural matters as assigned.

Review and evaluate all architectural and design matters.

Desired Candidate Profile
Basic Requirements:

Licensed Architect with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a well reputed university.

8 to 10 years of experience of which ten at least 3 years shall have been as a project architect/ principal architect.

Proven experience that includes design of business parks, shopping malls, mixed use facilities, residential apartments, villas, and other commercial and high quality finish projects in a leading position or as a principal architect.

Must be proficient with Autocad and preferably with Photoshop.

Strong knowledge of building codes and standards and familiarity with Saudi Arabian design practices.

Previous Saudi Arabian or GCC experience is a definite advantage

Located in Nadd Al Shiba, the first phase of the complex included Minister’s Luxury Villa, Majlis and Mother’s Villa. The façade are all related to each other in character & style. At the later stage, 5 more villas were built on the same site by other members of the family. Duties included Job Captain role, site inspection, manual drafting, hand sketching, colouring presentations & mentoring draftsmen. Represented the Senior Architect in all site & progress meetings.

Sustainable Homes – Large & Compact Villas, Abu Dhabi

2 prototype Villas for Emaratis which were projected to be built in Abu Dhabi up to 5,000 units. Using different approach of construction techniques & materials, the main objective of this project is to find solution in how save water & electricity effectively in a large scale & at the same time, control the excessive hot weather in the Emirates. The Villas reduce water consumption by 67% and energy by 50% over traditional designs. The Estidama Pearl rating system has been used on this project. Duties involved assisting Junior Staff in developing the right technique of preparing working drawings & providing 1 :1 scale details & other office standard documentation requirements. Attended meetings with different Suppliers to gather material quotations and samples for approval. Set Office standard detail drawing procedures for future documentation works. Instrumental in the delivery of documentation within agreed timeframe.

EMAAR Arabian Horse Stables, Dubai

The centre with 300 stables is the only facility of its kind in the Gulf combining horse riding, polo, dressage and show jumping. This will be the new home for the Dubai Polo Club in which ponies will be dedicated to the sport. The new concept of massing differed from and related to the nearby facility thus blending with the adjacent Clubhouse and residential houses. The ranches included Stable Blocks, Hay Feed Stores, Farrier Building, Trainer’s Block, Loading and Unloading, Veterinary clinic and Landscaped Exercising Ground. Supervised the preparation of detail design development works and coordination of the facility from schematic to construction.

The two most famous original parks built in Dubai during the 80’s with construction value of more than AED 800 million combined. Once called the mother of all parks in the Emirates because of its originality & uniqueness in landscaping & traditional architecture, the very first in UAE. As Design Team job captain, involved in managing, control & production supervision, detailing both architectural & landscaping, post contract coordination, site inspection, manual drafting & freehand presentation rendering in full colours. Responsible in introducing A3 detail format of “Cut & Paste” method to save time in laborious manual drafting.
