Position: Director Corporate Partnerships
Reports to: Program Director
Works with: Other Functional Heads & External Engagement Department in HO
Supervises: 2-3 team members
Mentors: Field-based managers who are engaged in mobilizing industry involvement

Position Purpose:
Lead the conception, design, implementation and monitoring of PSI’s engagement with Indian industry to motivate them to a) adopt HIV/AIDS programs for their workforce and b) contribute financial and in-kind resources to address the HIV epidemic impacting informal workers and communities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The tasks outlined below capture the current priorities. The position may evolve to take on additional tasks as the program evolves
Resource Mobilization
- Develop and implement a marketing plan to raise financial and in-kind resources from Indian industry. Key tasks include:
- Analyzing corporate CSR contributions and identifying possibly market segments to target
- Developing concept proposals to solicit funding from industry
- Provide guidance to field managers on resource mobilization
Marketing- HIV/AIDS Programs:
- Develop and implement a marketing plan to motivate a large number of companies to begin and implement HIV/AIDS for their employees. Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing the market to arrive at appropriate ‘selling’ strategies
- Developing and regularly monitoring systems to evaluate and support the field managers in recruiting companies for WPI
- Support the field-based managers through training and support to create access to companies
- Lead production of materials (brochures, presentations, etc) to mobilize interest among corporate houses about partnering with PSI/CONNECT
Communication Support Services:
- Recruit and manage external relations:
- Creative and PR agencies
- Online agencies
- Developing newsletters
- Support the work-place implementation team in the production of manuals and other training tools used for WPI programs
Advocacy and Linkages:
- Provide/coordinate technical assistance as necessary to USAID in its overall activities supportive of private sector HIV/AIDS initiatives, especially to the “corporate fund,” a collaborative initiative of the Indian and U.S. governments.
- Lead advocacy efforts with insurance & pharmaceutical sectors (potentially in partnership with FICCI)
- Lead development of an Advisory Group or Influential industry spokespersons for CONNECT (mainly based in Bangalore)
- Documentation of brief case studies to be shared with other organizations
Desired Candidate Profile:
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in resource mobilization from the private sector strongly recommended. Ability to design and implement marketing strategies to mobilize industry involvement in HIV/AIDS. 7 to 10 years experience in marketing/corporate communications and flair for forging corporate partnerships could be potentially substituted for resource mobilization experience;
- Background in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programming or general business leadership with CSR as a component preferred;
- Post-graduate degree in Business Administration, Public Health or related field
- Knowledge of the key issues related to HIV prevention, care and support.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare and deliver presentations and speeches to professional audiences
- Willingness to travel about 20 percent of time.

Context:
Population Services International (PSI) is a non-profit, Indian Society which began operations in 1988. It is affiliated with PSI in Washington, DC which has similar connection to organizations in 60 different countries. PSI is dedicated to the improvement of public health through promotion of products, services and information which empower people to protect themselves from preventable diseases. PSI currently operates in 10 states with a full-time and contract staff of 1300 persons. PSI is working on a major project, entitled CONNECT, in partnership with FICCI (and other partners) to enhance the capacity of industries to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic in their workplace and communities.
The CONNECT project focuses on Karnataka and coastal Andhra Pradesh and four port cities of the country where PSI has led a successful HIV prevention project over the past six years. Successful implementation of the project will require engagement with industry to encourage uptake of good workplace policies and practices in support of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support. A hallmark of the program will be the contribution of additional resources by commercial firms, either in cash or in-kind, for support of community-level responses targeting those most at-risk of contracting and transmitting HIV/AIDS.
