It was incorporated as a private limited company on Dec. 02, 1991 and was converted into a public limited company on Jan. 05, 1993. Earlier known as Murli Agro Products, it got its present name with effect from Jan. 24, 2007. The company has been promoted by the Maloo group, who have vast experience in the production and marketing of various agro-based products like soya de-oiled cake, refined edible oil and paper products like duplex, cream wove, map litho paper, copier, newsprint and printing paper among other products.
Operations are spread across the sectors of cement, duplex paper, newsprint and printing paper, pulp, writing and printing paper, and solvent production. The duplex paperboard is used as packing material in the pharmaceutical industry, sweets, match sticks, readymade garment industry, consumer goods industry, cracker industry and other areas. Micro refined tripled filtered soyabean refined edible oil is produced under the brand name Rasila. De-oiled cake is mainly used as a cattle feed and poultry feed.
The manufacturing units are located in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra with installed capacities of 170 MT per day refined oil, 21,000 MTPA news print and printing paper, 1,100 MT per day de-oiled cakes and oils, 80 MT per day paper board and duplex, 80 MT per day newsprint, 18 MW co-generated power, and 150 tons per day pulp. The backward integration program of manufacturing pulp will reduce import of raw material and would cater to about 80% of the requirements of the writing and printing paper unit. De-oiled cake is mainly exported to South East Asian countries and sold domestically across India. Duplex paper is supplied to companies like Ranbaxy and Dabur among others and newsprint paper to publication houses such as Indian Express, Enadu and Rajasthan Patrika.
The registered office is at 101, Jai Bhavani Society, Central Avenue, Wardhaman Nagar, Nagpur-440008, and Maharashtra.
Financials
Murli Industries registered a 24.62% growth in net profits to Rs 212.24 million for the quarter ended June 2008 from a profit of Rs 170.31 million for the quarter ended June 2007.
Net sales rose 7.87% to Rs 1,242.26 million for the quarter ended June 2008 from Rs 1,151.66 million for the quarter ended June 2007.
Total income rose 7.95% to Rs 1,243.8 million for the quarter ended June 2008 from Rs 1,152.16 million for the quarter ended June 2007.
The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 20.72 for the quarter ended June 2008.
Future Plans
The company is coming up with four cement plants at Chandrapur (10,000 TPD),
Rajasthan (10,000 TPD), Gujarat (10,000 TPD), Karnataka (10,000 TPD); and a SBS Board venture at Vadodara (250 TPD).
For the writing and printing sector, it is coming out with new products like duplex boards HWC (white back and grey back), deluxe, super deluxe and diamond newsprint; and excel maplitho and super printing writing paper
