Designation Faculty - Fashion Designing

Job Description 1.Responsible for teaching & course up gradation. Candidate with vision, exposure, drive, innovative academic ideas & passion for teaching. Professionally qualified. Must have relevant experience, excellent communication skills and dynamic personality.
2. Have to give knowledge and training to students about fashion designing.
3. Have to create study materials and group discussion with students for further improvement.
4. Assist with SMU promotional activities

- Well versed with facility’s design, its operation and various aspects of visual merchandizing like mannequins, props, tools of the trade, principles of design, color, lighting, signage, store displays, graphics.
- Supervising curriculum development and implementation, create question banks, conduct examinations, and create assessment process.
- Conduct training program and initiate projects, develop industry interface
- Creative with an ability to adapt to a multi-cultural setting and to handle students of different nationalities
- Plan and deliver these lessons in a clear and appropriate manner
- Monitor and endeavor to maintain high student moral and motivation

Desired Profile Qualification and Experience
1. Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent from a recognized academic institution
2. Advanced Diploma in Fashion Designing
3. Certificate Course in Fashion Technology
4. Certificate Course in CAD in Fashion Desgning
5. Candidates who passed their Graduation from NIFT or allied institutions are Preferred.

- Areas of expertise may include design, illustration sketching, draping, pattern making and garment construction for misses/specialty sizes, menswear and/or children’s wear. College-level teaching experience in the classroom or through an online format.

- Dynamic and enthusiastic, with an interest to nurture students and to help them achieve their potential

- Must have relevant experience, excellent communication skills and dynamic personality.

Experience: 3 – 5 Years

- Qualified candidates should have a terminal degree or its equivalent in fashion or a RELATED FIELD, as well as a broad knowledge of fashion design.

- Excellent design skills and professional recognition is essential in order to join this highly creative, motivated, and exciting team that is creating the next generation of fashion designers.

- Strong skills in the areas of design, concept, innovation, illustration, sketching, and CAD are highly desirable.

- Technical skills in first patternmaking, size specification, fit, and construction.

- Three years industry experience with a credible portfolio

- Preferably 2-3 years lecturing experience in Fashion
Communication & Co-ordination, Fashion Design, Illustration, Pattern Drafting & Draping, Sewing Techniques, or other relevant areas of study

- Skilled at developing boards from product concept to line catalogue

- Creative approach to problem solving
