Job Description:
Instruction Designer/Group Leader - 1 Vacancy
Duties
======
The successful candidate will be appointed as Instructional Designer and will be required to:
- Lead a team of multimedia programmers to develop e-Learning based courseware
- Analyze content to be produced and generate an Outline document
- Develop and write storyboards for e-learning courseware production.
- Proofread and edit storyboards for e-learning content.
- Assure the English Language standard of all content produced and be responsible for all language and learning issues.
- Coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of e-learning projects; Including digital photography, video shoot, editing and voice over recording.
- Support any content related matters for courseware and other materials, e.g. website content, presentations, etc.
- Promote the effective and integrative use of modern educational technologies for enhancing teaching and learning at the maritime training institute;
- Provide consultation and expertise to subject experts and e-learning project teams on effective application of online pedagogy and instructional design in the development of e-learning materials and online instructional systems;

Multimedia Programmers - 2 vacancies

- Degree/Diploma in Multimedia for eLearning, Computer Science or Mechanical engineering
- Competent in Flash and Action Script for clear presentation of engineering concepts and procedures by animation and simulation.
- Competent in 3D Graphics with 3D Max and other 3D animation packages
- Competent in video digitizing, editing, voice over recording and editing using pinnacle and Sound Forge
- Competent in design of graphic interface design in computer based eLearning environment
- Competent in Adobe Desktop Publishing -Layout, Illustration and Image editing
- Competent in web design with HTML and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of LMS system and interfacing with Flash

Qualifications for Instruction Designer/Group Leader

Applicants should have:
- At least a Science or an Engineering graduate
- a recognized higher degree in e-learning and instructional design;
- a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the area of instructional design, preferably in technology-enriched instruction or e-learning projects;
- excellent facilitation/interactive teaching skills and a commitment to student-centered learning;
- Candidates must possess a strong command of written English, be creative, and have a flair for writing.
- demonstrated high standard of communication, consultation and interpersonal skills;
- demonstrated skills in taking initiative and being a creative problem solver;
- commitment to client service and team-oriented approach to work; and
- proven competence and expertise in online pedagogy and instructional design for e-learning development and support at the university level.
