Job Description:
The Laboratory Cytogenetics manger is responsible for the oversight of the laboratory starting with supervisor all the way down to the bench staff. The position will be responsible to assure Quest, Regulators, and Clients that all the defined procedures are being followed and documented. In addition to oversight The Laboratory Manager will also be responsible to assemble and complete all items necessary for regulatory licensing of the laboratory. A minimum of NABL, CAP and NGSP certifications would be required, since we are doing work all across the Indian Subcontinent. In addition to the above primary responsibilities the manager will also review proficiency testing, issue action needed forms for required corrective actions, track performance measure, be the primary interface for client audits of the laboratory, and develop process improvement projects and support there implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Develops, implement and monitor quality management programs to ensure compliance with all applicable Local, State, and international regulations.
-Responsible for Audits, and assembling QA Metrics in conjunction with the QA Manager,
-Responsible for Laboratory proficiency testing program involving the Tracking & Resolution of all exceptions
-Responsible for ensuring all licensures, accreditation (e.g. NABL, CAP) and quality processes (e.g. GCP, GLP, ICH) are maintained.
-Responsible for handling communication of quality issues and their resolution to clients.
-Assists with audits performed by sponsors and regulatory agencies.
-Facilitates on assigned action items that arise from audits or identified quality items.
-Ensure implementation of the CQCSP process throughout the laboratory.
-Coordinate monthly corporate QC Seminars.
-Establish, centralize, schedules and monitor adherence for the laboratory assessment of: Non-PT, Maintenance Records, Second Instrument Comparisons, Calibration, Report Review, and Calculation Checks.
-Collate all QC and QA metrics into a monthly assessment of the laboratory status and quality improvement.

Supervision Exercised:
Reports straight line to medical director

Qualifications:
Education Preferred: MD in Laboratory sciences or PhD in Biological Sciences required

Work Experience:
-Minimum of 7 years experience in clinical laboratory setting
-Some background of CT, regulatory environment
-Previous Supervisory experience preferred
-Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels in the Quest organization.
-Demonstrated success in managing/completing complex projects
-Proven analytical skills in problem solving.
-May be required to travel to new labs as they are set up, audit and set up processes for ensuring Quality and compliance.
