Company Profile:
Goenka College of Commerce & Business Administration, Kolkata, is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in India. The history of the college may be traced back to 1903, when the then Government of Bengal had introduced a two-year Senior Course in commercial studies at the Presidency College. However, in 1905 the Presidency College Commercial classes developed in to a separate Government Commercial Institute(GCI).

Government Commercial Institute in Calcutta, (GCI) had to change its working place several times to remain alive and functioning. In 1948 the college was affiliated to the All-India Council for Technical Education, for imparting instructions in National Diploma Course in Commerce (N.D. Com.)- a 3 years’ full-time day course intended to provide through professional training for commercial occupation. The College born in the turbulent days of the anti-partition and National Education Movements in Bengal passed nearly half a century of nomadic life in its adolescent period. It finally acquired the present accommodation in 1951, replacing the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, work place of Sir C.V. Raman. The College owes this accommodation to the munificence of the Goenkas. The name of the college(GCI) was changed to Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration(GCCBA). To build up a model commerce college for creating competent professionals for the expanding business and growing service sector in independent India, the present building, tallest among all the Government college buildings in the state, was constructed in 1962.

In 1951, this college was affiliated to the C.U. for teaching B.Com. Course. The College has UGC recognition under 2f and 12B since 1956.
The College touched the milestone of 100 years of its journey in 2005. This unique achievement was celebrated with great fanfare. College is recently accredated by NAAC.
