The present study demonstrates that leaves of Prunella vulgaris possess adaptogenic activity and antioxidant property may be due to antioxidant principles of the plant like flavanoids, tannins and other poly phenolic compounds. Further study is warranted to isolate, characterize and screen the active principles from the leaves of Prunella vulgaris that posses adaptogenic and antioxidant properties
