Job Description:
VMware, a pioneer in virtualization software for industry-standard computers, is seeking QA Engineers with a proven track record for delivering high quality software products. As a QA Engineer for Virtual Center UI, you will be responsible for testing the Windows User Interface for VMware’s Virtual Center software. This includes systems administration along with test design, implementation, execution, debugging and automation. You will work closely with developers and help ship products with very high quality.

Responsibilities

-Write test plans and test case documentation for assigned features
-Design, implement, execute and maintain test automation scripts using SilkTest
-Design and execute manual tests as needed to ensure high quality of the product
-Own important features of the product and work closely with the cross-teams during the testing cycle
-File high quality bug reports and follow-up to bring successful closure
-Participate in design and code reviews
-Ability to work in a results oriented fast paced environment

Desired Candidate Profile:
Requirements

-Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with 5 + years directly related experience - or equivalent combination of education and experience
-2+ years of experience using SilkTest and 4Test language
-Experience working on client-server applications needed and User Interface testing experience required.
-Strong test documentation skills, including an automation-oriented methodical approach to creating test plans and test case specifications, are essential
-Experience testing and releasing enterprise level software products
-Broad technical knowledge including operating system fundamentals and basic systems administration (installing and configuring operating systems and hardware)
-Experience using source control applications
-Motivated and Self starter
-Linux experience required
-Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages:
o Java
o C#
o C++
o C
