Designation: Engineering Drafter - Mechanical

Job Description:
** To prepare and generate complete design development and construction drawing packages for mechanical standard scopes of work, including detailed coordination relating to the remainder of the A/E Project team (electrical / structural/ civil / architectural)
** To perform basic/routine engineering project work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks

Skills Required:
** Understanding of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems is essential; in addition, understanding of fire protection, energy management, controls, and refrigeration systems is preferred
** Knowledge of current building codes, materials and costs is needed
** Experience in commercial projects is required; experience in supermarket/restaurant/retail projects is preferred
** A working knowledge of site planning, civil, structural, architectural, and building engineering is needed
** Working knowledge of AutoCAD is essential; additional experience in Microstation is preferred
** Working knowledge of Trane Trace load program
** Strong communication and time-management skills are required

Roles and Responsibilities:
** Primary responsibility for generation of detailed and accurate mechanical construction drawings for assigned projects
** Preparation of mechanical design development document packages for assigned projects, in conjunction with project engineer
** Checking project code compliance with client, code and construction requirements
** Quality and coordination of mechanical construction drawings for assigned projects
** Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
** Provide solutions to problems relating to drawing documentation
** Aid in problem solving as related to assigned projects, in conjunction with project engineer
** Meeting of established project parameters – budget, schedule, quality
Meeting of client project expectations

Desired Candidate Profile:
Technical School degree, minimum
Minimum of 2-4 years experience in HVAC and Plumbing technical drafting/design and detailing in the generation of complete design development and construction drawing packages
