Job Description:
For implementing a project on livelihoods, in partnership with the
Government of West Bengal, we are looking for a local trainer. The
person will be located in Amta, Howrah for a few months and then based on performance be
relocated to different districts in West Bengal.
S/he will be responsible for conducting training for SHGs on Livelihoods and hand holding
trainers when they conduct the training for SHGs in their respective
districts. The person should be fluent in Bengali and English. A background in social work/social sciences is preferable. Experieced candidates will be given preference. Alternatively even a background in business and marketing would be considered an advantage. The person should be ready to travel extensively and stay in the districts in West Bengal if necessary.

I have more than 13th year theoretical and practical knowledge experience on formation and strengthening the village institutions specially for women, building their capacity on different aspects, linking with former financial institutions, livelihood promotion for poor community and implementation of the IG Activities with strategic formulation, monitoring and evaluation, project formulation, business development plan and making the packages of practices on soil and water resource/natural resource management, dry land farming, mixed farming/cropping, agro-horty and agro-forestry programme with inter-cropping, orchard development. Promoting livelihood opportunities in natural product production, processing and marketing, participatory rural appraisal techniques, participatory poverty analysis and problem solving utilization of field bunds, alternative source of fodder and fuel wood, improved extraction methods, control the over harvesting of valuable wild stands of natural plants, create incentive for community based conservation of endangered species. Understand the rural/urban economy by applying different tools of Participatory Rural Appraisal exercise, Focus Group Discussion, and meeting with villagers and micro-planning for the beneficiaries. My recent experience in the field of business related activities of rural development as technical and modern concept on agriculture and allied activities like that dairy development, improved techniques of animal husbandry and fodder development, an agriculture organic product which is highly demanded in metro cities. Preparation of AWPB and followed by action plan, proper utilization of fund, implementation process, monitoring and evaluation of programme activities and staffs and conversation with various departments of government and institutions/organizations with good interpersonal relation. My technical inputs in the business approach reflect among villagers to improve their livelihood. My biggest strength is systematic planning and highly positive motivation, attitude, thinking and dedication to our responsibility, believe in the team work and honesty. Presently, Livelihood Manager (Rural Women Livelihood Promotion), MP, Mahila Vitta Evam Vikas Nigam, Bhopal (M.P.) for the implementation of Tejaswini Programme in six districts of the state, funded by International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD). The Nigam has promoted by Women and Child Development Department, Govt. of M.P. Nigam is working rural women empowerment, sustainable livelihoods enhancement of poor and vulnerable rural women through farming and nurching the village level institutions and there after linked them with various livelihood activity. The programme has most focused on existing livelihood activities such as enhancement of agriculture production through building their capacity on technical know-how in rural rainfed farming in the areas and allied activities. The programme also supports to enhance organic agriculture production in rural areas. I am posted in State Programme Management Unit, Bhopal from Nov. 2008 to till date.
Responsibilities :
- Design, develop and plan technical support inputs to improve performance of livelihood activities in project districts by working closely with the Resource NGO/Lead NGO for delivery of livelihood activity components.
- Assessment of economic potentials of programme districts and conceptualizing thematic studies and reports to guide livelihood improvement and its security in project districts.
