Re: Lahmeyer International India Gurgaon : Geologist
Dear Sir/Ma’am,
I am carrying out my research work in the Centre of Advanced Study in Geology, University of Lucknow, India on “Structural studies and deformation mechanism in rocks of Ramni and Wan area, with special reference to Central Crystalline Zone and Nandprayag Crystalline.” The work mainly involves structural analysis and studies related to deformation mechanisms of the Crystalline Units north and south of Garhwal Lesser Himalaya, and includes systematic structural and lithological mapping supported by field and laboratory studies.
I shall be highly grateful if you could kindly consider my case for a suitable job in your organization.
I have so far published two research papers whereas third one is ready for early communication.
- Sharma, P., Bhadauriya, Y. and Bhattacharya, A.R. 2008. Geology and Structure of the Ramni-Wan area: A tectonically sandwiched window between the Central and Nandprayag Crystalline Zones. In: “Journal of Economic Geology and Resource Management”vol.8, 2008. (Accepted)
- Bhadauriya, Y., Bhattacharya, A.R. and Sharma, P. 2008. Structure of a part of the Nandprayag Crystalline Zone, Garhwal Himalaya. In: “Magmatism, Tectonism and Mineralization”. New Delhi, India. (Accepted)
- A condensed sedimentary sequence in Garhwal Lesser Himalaya; Tectonic implication (manuscript under preparation).
Thank you

Current Research Activity / Career Objective
My regular involvement in the scientific activities at College and University level along with my desire to take up challenging jobs and to participate in group activities will definitely help me to take up new challenge. I would like to optimally utilize all my knowledge and computer skills in challenging jobs in geology (both field and laboratory based). I have developed myself fit in working independently as well as in a group.
Pursuing Ph.D. in the Centre of Advanced Study in Geology, University of Lucknow under the supervision of Prof. A.R. Bhattacharya, studying the structural setup and deformation mechanism in the rocks of Ramni and Wan area (Garhwal Lesser Himalaya), with special reference to Central Crystalline Zone. The works consist of systematic mapping of various lithounits involved in Himalayan thrusting. Using field and laboratory studies the aim is to reconstruct thrust belt geometry, shear sense determination.
I am connected with Prof. I.B.Singh in research activity. I have also taken courses on facies analysis, Sequence Stratigraphy, Delta Depositional System and System Tracts. I have also learned techniques of the grain size analysis including pipette analysis and its interpretation under guidance of Prof. I.B.Singh. I have worked in the indo gangetic plain and have discussed with Prof. Singh several sedimentological aspects e.g. Sedimentary Structures both Primary and Secondary, relevance of these Structures and depositional system in Ancient sediment. I have worked out and mapped a condensed sequence in a part of Garhwal Lesser Himalaya; this is no doubt a rare occurance in the Himalayan domain of such a sequence appears to some great relevance in the evolution of sedimentary basins in orogenic belts. Discussion on this aspect is going on with Prof. I.B.Singh.
