Designation Physical Design Manager

Job Description
The Network Switching BU, India Design Center, which is currently about 60 people strong, is looking for a Physcial Design Manager, to lead its over 10 engineer strong physical design team. This team is currently responsible for the entire Netlist to GDSII activity, for chips being designed in the BU, currently using the 65 nm technology. We are looking for a dynamic leader, who can hit the road running, and provide technical expertise, guidance and manage multiple projects in parallel. Broadcom provides a very challenging environment, with product design cycles that are generally half of industry norms, while working besides the best brains in the industry. The Bangalore IDC team is credited to be the one to tape out the networking industry’s first 65 nm switch ASIC, over a year ago.

Job Requirements:
- BS or MS with at least 15+ years experience in physical design.
- Managed Physical design teams before
- Managed/Worked on a few tapeouts at 90nm or less
- Worked in the switching or other communication domain, a definite plus
- Should have working hands on knowledge of complete flow from RTL till GDSII, including synthesis, DFT, IO planning, floorplanning, powergrid synthesis, P&R, timing closure and STA, checks like drc/lvs, signal integrity, crosstalk etc.,
- Worked in the US or worked with global teams
- Knowledge of Magma tool and flow a definite plus

Desired Profile
- Manage a team of over 10 PD Engineers.
- Fully responsible for leading tapeouts of 65nm switch chips including, schedule and resource planning, execution and people tasks management and status monitoring
- Interacting with design and dft teams both in BLR and SJ
- Understand and Adapt to the current Broadcom PD flow and later augment to it
- Evaluate new technologies, tools and flow
- Manage, mentor and help resolve technical issues of team members
- Hire, train and grow the IDC pd team to take up multiple projects in parallel.
