Designation Manager:Senior User Interface (UI) Developer

Job Summary:
This role would involve participating and leading the overall development of Web based User interfaces for Novell. The UI Development Engineer would be responsible for design and implementation of full-featured, visually rich web-based applications for a Configuration Management System. This position involves understanding of the core architecture of the company's Web UI infrastructure and building new web applications on it or extending the current infrastructure for new business requirements. The candidate is also expected to develop conceptual level UIs, develop mock ups for new ideas and continuously integrate on existing UI frames.

Essential Skills:

Hands on experience of Java UI technologies like applets.
Hands on experience of web UI technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, XML.
Comfortable with working on Linux/Windows server back end with technologies like web services, hibernate on Apache Tomcat.
Extensive understanding of web UI design.
Worked on a complete life cycle of a Web based UI project encompassing of conceptualization, design , development and testing activities.
Minimum of six years software development experience in the above areas.
Very strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Willingness to learn and try new things as well as extremely good research skills.
Extremely good sense of design and all newest and current web trends and standards.

Desirable Skills:

Experience in doing the interaction design.
Developing layouts in Visio, mock-ups in Photoshop and functional HTML prototypes (including HTML, CSS and JavaScript).
Enjoys and wants to get more exposure to the areas of User Interface and user experience design and development, usability testing, information architecture & web content development, web template design and development.
Is passionate about championing usability concerns in the organization and coming up with innovative solutions.
Has worked in an agile development environment before.
Education : B.E. degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or equivalent experience
