Job Description
Engineering/Processes
- Degree in Mechanical engineering.
- Cost Analysis / Cost Estimation skills
- Functional Analysis , Fast Programming ,Brain Storming by function ,Product Tear Down Methodology.
- 5 - 6 years of experience in an engineering firm and preferable with background from a tier 1 Automotive/ Aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of NPD/VAVE processes .
- Experience in design and development of systems from scratch to launch.
- Skill sets on Tolerance analysis, Engineering calculations, Motion analysis, Material selection, FEA,..etc
- Design for Manufacturing ( Knowhow of some of the manufacturing processes like stampings, forgings, castings, powder Metallurgy, finishing)
- Knowledge on Design for assembly
- Design tools like FMEA,DVP & R , Tooling risk ..etc & Process tools like Control plan , Process flow charts, error proofing, SPC..etc
- Base knowledge on tooling for stamping , molding ,casting
- CAD skills on UG & Pro-e (* Not very imp)
- Problem solving skills ( use of 5W&1H, Fishbone dia, pareto analysis..etc)

Project management
- Use of project management tools like Microsoft projects, Risk analysis, Stake holder analysis
- Cross functional alignment
- Assertive and drive decisions

“Experimental investigation of mechanical properties of heat treated al6061-wc composite ”
Raghavendra spectro metallurgical laboratory, peenya
Industrial area, Bangalore Composites were prepared using metallurgical route. In this process, Al6061 alloy was first super heated above its melting temperature and stirring was initiated to homogenize temperature. The temperature was than lowered gradually until the alloy reached a semisolid state. At this temperature the pre heated reinforcement was introduced into molten slurry. Stirring was continued until interface between the particles and matrix prompted wetting. The melt was than superheated above its liquidus temperature of 6000c and finally poured into pre heated moulds. After getting the casted material, it is machined to standard size and shape to carry out different tests like tensile, compression, hardness and micro structure the tests are compared before and after the heat treatment (T6) process.
