There are two Catheterization Labs (cath labs) with digital subtraction angiography and caters to the treatment of all cardiac disease with cases such as myocardial infarction, ischemic heart disease, life threatening arrhythmias, heart failure, pulmonary oedema etc. It has two recovery rooms for all these day care patients.

SENIOR STAFF NURSE – CATHERIZATION LAB (2 cath labs: 35 hours pr week)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist physician during emergency pacemaker implantation, cardiac and interventions like PCI, Balloon Septostomy all valvaoplasty, PDA closures both by coil as well as amplatz device, ASD closure by amplatz device.
- Preparing and assisting in coronary Angiography studies to aid in diagnosis and evaluation of Ischemic Heart disease and final investigation in patients with chest pain syndromes.
- Assisting in primary percutaneous Transluminal Coronary angiography and balloon mitral valvaltomy.
- Perform nursing assessment of all cardiac patients, plan, implement & evaluate nursing care rendered.
- Observe and monitor closely the patient & record various pressures, reports undue development to the physician as needed.
- Nursing documentation in a brief, accurate and complete manner.
- Initiate CPR during cardiopulmonary arrest.
