Avasar Scholarship 2017 :
** Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, passed in 2009 by Government of India, a free and compulsory education is guaranteed for all children aged between 6 and 14, and the most recent figures for primary school enrollment stand at an impressive-sounding 98%.

** However girls and marginalized gr?oups such as the very poor and the disabled, are often left behind. While girls attend primary school in roughly equal numbers to boys, the gap widens as they get older and are forced to drop out to help with work at home, outside or get married.

** Of the “out-of-school children”, one survey reported that about 62% were girls; they make up two-thirds of all illiterate 15 to 24-year-old’s. The reality for many girls in India is harsh, with young women having little control over their lives.

** Almost 50 percent are married before age 18, just 30 percent graduate from 10th grade, and less than 40 percent work for pay. This is the target group for Avasar to extend support for education up to employment. ** Achieved 80% or above in preparatory exams
** Are from a BPL Family (Below Poverty Line)
** This program is only for Girls.

** "Ability is Nothing Without An Opportunity" is the basis on which Avasar (Opportunity) Foundation was established in the year 2012.
** We support underprivileged girls from PUC to Graduation and then employment by way of Scholarships, Coaching, Mentoring, Training and so on.

** This is an opportunity to passionately get engaged and one who is a self starter, proactive and can work without much supervision will be an ideal candidate.
** Please incomplete forms will not be evaluated and we will not seek any information which is missing.
