Project Research Engineer Recruitment :
Applications are invited from the citizens of India for filling up the following temporary position for the sponsored project undertaken in the Department of Electrical Engineering of this Institute. The position is temporary initially for a period of 1 Year and tenable only for the duration of the project.

Position : Project Research Engineer (2 Posts )
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.52000 -+ Rs.5000.00/- Out Of Campus Allowance (if applicable) p.m.
Qualification :
MTech /ME/ MDes or equivalent-With minimum 3 years experience in Digital Design, Familiarity with VHDL, FPGA,Scripting Programming (1 Post)
OR
MTech /ME/ MDes or equivalent-With minimum 3 years experience in System Firmware, Operating Systems, Device Drivers, Embedded System Development. (1 post)

Job Profile :
Post 1: Design, Development, Verification, Implementation & Validation of Digital Systems related to Microprocessors.
Post 2: Firmware & System software development, verification, implementation & Validation

The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project . The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.

Project Title & Funding Agency :""National Carbonaceous Aerosol Programme (NCAP): Carbonaceous Aerosol Emissions, Source Apportionment and Climate Effects"" (Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change)

Position : Project Research Associate (1 Post )
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.40000 - 52000 + 30% HRA (if applicable) p.m.
Qualification :
Essential: (i) B.Tech/BE with 2 years relevant experience or M.Tech/ME with 1year experience in an Engineering discipline.
(ii) Experience in development, maintenance or extensive use of computational softwares, or knowledge of scientific/numerical computing.
(iii) Knowledge of Programming languages such as C, Python, Java.

Desirable (One or more of these skills):
(i) Knowledge of engineering computational environments such as Matlab, Scilab, Octave.
(ii) Experience in use of climate domain specific softwares such as WRF (Weather Research & Forecasting) model for weather systems, FERRET for oceanography and meteorology, etc.

Job Profile :
The person will be in charge of a one of its kind data portal in the country. The data portal will serve as a (i) repository of measurements generated through measurement campaigns in the current project as well as simulation data obtained from extensive and heavy duty simulations of various types of domain specific softwares
(ii) platform to enable multivariate data analysis and extensive data visualization, and (iii) decision support system for policy makers. The last two functionalities will be enabled by providing essential computational programming feature as part of the portal, as well as by linking the portal to various numerical/statistical routines running at the back-end.

The person will be in charge of developing a GIS-based decision support system for query based decision making, through mining of spatio-temporally distributed databases of climate variables, ecosystem and resource variables and climate change drivers like anthropogenic energy-use and related emissions. Data from an Indian emissions inventory, satellite remote sensing and climate model outputs will be provided, through collaboration with PhD students.

The person will be entrusted with the task of interacting with various stake-holders to (i) develop specifications (software and hardware) for the data portal
(ii) liasion with the company which will develop the data portal to ensure the developed data portal meets the specifications
(iii) act as a bridge between the researchers working in the project and the company developing the data portal to ensure that latest research methodologies/ideas can be productized and made available to the public at large through the data portal
(iv) maintain extensive documentation related to the data portal to ensure seamless enhancement of capabilities in the future, and
(iv) provide innovative inputs and lead the effort to enrich the capabilities of the data portal for it to be truly a national level resource.
