Diploma in Nursing For Women :
Applications can be downloaded from the websites tnhealth.org/ tnmedicalselection.org The filled in application along with necessary enclosures and two self addressed envelopes measuring 23x10 cms should be sent in a large sized cover measuring 38 cm x 28 cm super scribed :APPLICATION FOR DIPLOMA IN NURSING COURSE 2017-2018 SESSION" addressed to
“The Secretary, Selection Committee,
Directorate of Medical Education,
Kilpauk,
Chennai-10”
before the last date along with a Demand Draft for 300/- towards the cost of application form drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Selection Committee” and payable at Chennai.

AGE LIMIT : Minimum age will be 17 years and maximum age limit is 35 years as on 31st December 2017.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:-
a. Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board /any other equivalent Board in the following group of subjects.
1. 65% of the seats will be filled up with candidates in the following subjects.
i. Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject.
ii. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology.
2. 25% of the seats will be filled up with candidates in the following subjects.
i. Vocational Nursing) with Nursing
ii. Foundation Science as Vocational subject.
3 a. 10% of the seats will be filled with candidates in the subject not specified in items 1 and 2 above.
b. b. If adequate number of eligible candidates are not available in item 2 and 3, the seats will be reverted back to item 1.
c. c. Candidates who have passed the HSC in open university are not eligible to apply for Diploma in Nursing course.
iii. d. Candidates who have already completed Diploma in Nursing course are not eligible to apply.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:-
a) Candidates seeking admission to Diploma in Nursing course should submit the application form with necessary enclosures which should reach:-

on or before 23.10.2017 by 5.00 p.m.

b) The candidates shall ensure that the completed application form with all particulars and enclosures reaches the Selection Committee within the date and time specified. Applications received by Speed Post/Courier or any other means after the last date & time will not be accepted irrespective of the date of booking.

c) The Selection Committee shall not be responsible for any delay in the receipt or for the loss in transit of application form etc.
d) Request for extension of time for submission of documents called for, after the specified date and time will not be entertained.
e) Any supporting documents/application received after due date will not be entertained.

f) Candidates seeking admission under Special Category for the Diploma in Nursing course (Orthopaedically Physically disabled, Eminent Sportsperson, Children of Ex-Servicemen) shall submit the prescribed format available in the Prospectus along with the application. If the certificates are not enclosed, the candidates will not be considered under that category without any intimation to the candidates.

g) No oral enquiry would be entertained.
h) Photocopy/ Fax copy of the application will not be accepted.
i) Both upper limbs, vision and hearing should be normal for all candidates including for candidates applying under Orthopaedically Physically disabled category.

Last date for receipt of the application: . 23.10.2017 5.00 p.m.
Expected date for declaration of Merit : 1st week of November 2017
Allotment of seats by personal appearance : 2nd Week of November 2017
Last date of admission : The time as mentioned in the allotment order of the candidate.

PROCEDURE FOR FILLING AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:-
a. Before filling up the application form and OMR sheets, read all the instructions carefully.

b. Each application form bears a unique number which is printed on the Application form and the OMR Sheet. Candidates are requested to check the number and ensure that the same number is printed on the Application form, Outer cover, Inner cover and OMR sheet.

In case any discrepancy is noted, it should be immediately brought to the notice of the Selection Committee before the last date for the receipt of applications. However the serial number of the OMR sheet will be considered as the final number for correspondence purposes.

c. No candidate should submit more than one application.
d. If a candidate applies in forms other than the one prescribed for the academic year i.e 2017-2018 session, the application will be summarily rejected.

Candidates are instructed to enclose only the photocopies (not original) of the following certificates in the order indicated below along with the application.
a. Mark sheet(s) of H.S.C. examination/any other equivalent examination duly endorsed by the competent authority. Photo copy of both the sides of the mark sheets should be enclosed.
b. Transfer certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or equivalent courses.
c. Nativity certificate (if applicable).
d. Permanent Community Certificate Card( if applicable )
e. Candidates seeking Admission against Special Category seats should submit necessary certificates obtained from appropriate authorities in the prescribed form and submit them along with the application to the Selection Committee. (Please see format in the Annexure II, III & IV.)
f. X standard Mark Sheet.
g. Certificate for proof of study from VIII standard to XII standard.
