Carpenter Trainee, Electronics Apprentice Recruitment :
The National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) is an autonomous organisation functioning under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India for propagation of Science among masses and student community in particular through its wide network of 25 Science museums and centers spread across the country.
This organisation proposes to induct suitable candidates as trainees / apprentices in the following trade :
1. Trainee (Carpenter) : Purely on temporary basis for a period of one year which may be extended for a further period of one year subject to satisfactory performance.
Required Qualification: Having ITI certificate in the relevant trade with Madhyamik or equivalent qualification. Candidates possessing Diploma or higher qualification should not apply.
Stipend: Consolidated stipend of Rs.8,000/- p.m. per month.
2. Apprentice(Electronics) : Purely on temporary basis for a period of one year only.
Required Qualification : Having ITI certificate in the relevant trade with Madhyamik or equivalent qualification. Candidates possessing Diploma or higher qualification should not apply.
Stipend : Consolidated stipend of Rs.7,471/- per month.
Interested fresh passed out candidates may submit their applications in the enclosed Bio data format which may be duly filled-up and copies of all mark sheets from Madhyamik/SSLC onwards & other documents if any to the Dy. Controller of Administration of the Museum on or before 26.09.2017.
Those who underwent traineeship/apprenticeship at BITM / Science City need not apply for the above.
N.B: Attested photocopies of supporting documents should be submitted along with the Bio-data.
Director General Recruitment :
Applications are invited for the post of Director General of National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) in the Pay Matrix of level 15 (`1,82,200-`2,24,100.00, present total emoluments `2,49,024.00). The post carries usual allowances as admissible to Central Government employees. The age of superannuation is 60 years as per prevailing rules.
Application Format: Applications may be sent on plain paper furnishing the following information:
(a) Full Name,

(c) Date of Birth,
(d) Examinations passed from the first University level, dates, disciplines and divisions,
(e) List of Publications, with an indication of their relevance to the aforesaid job description,
(f) Experience with names and addresses of the Present and Past Employers, manners of employment and remunerations,
(g) A brief statement on his/her experience and impact on science popularization,
(h) Other relevant information regarding suitability of candidates for the post notified,
(i) A write up (in about 300 words) on his/her vision for science popularization in the country.
Candidates nominated by distinguished scientists / technologists / educationists / museologists and fulfilling the prescribed requirements, shall also be considered for the post, even if they do not apply in response to the advertisement.

About us :
The first science museum, Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM), Kolkata under CSIR, was opened on May 2, 1959. In July 1965 the second science museum of the country, the Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum (VITM) was opened in Bangalore.
After Kolkata and Bangalore, the work for the third centre at Mumbai was taken up in 1974.
As the popularisation of science and technology through the Science Museums grew in scope and size, the Union Planning Commission constituted a Task Force in early 1970’s to assess the activities of the Science Museums.
