In terms of the instructions issued vide Railway Board’s letter no. E(NG)I-92 /PM 2/16 dated 20-08-1993 (RBE NO. 129/1993) and other instructions issued from time to time, online applications are invited from All serving regular railway employees of North Western Railway excluding RPF/RPSF employees for filling up vacancies against General Departmental Competitive Examination(GDCE) quota.

Before applying, the Candidates should carefully read the instructions and ensure that he/she fulfills all the prescribed eligibility criteria at the time of submission of application as per the Notification.

Minimum educational qualification :
Clerk Cum Typist : 12th (+2stage) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks is not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/Ex-servicemen. Candidates who have possess higher qualification can apply irrespective of marks obtained by them in 12th typing speed 30w.p.m. in English and 25 w,p.m in Hindi.

Asstt. Loco Pilot : Matriculation pass plus (A) ITI certificate/ Act Apprenticeship passed in trade (i) Fitter (ii) Electrician (iii) Instrument Mechanic (iv) Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic (v) Mechanic (Radio & TV) (vi) Electronics Mechanic (vii) Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) (viii) Wireman (ix) Tractor Mechanic (x) Armature & coil Winder (xi) Mechanic (Diesel) (xii) Heat Engine (xiii) Turner (xiv) Machinist (xv) Refrigeration & AC Mechanic OR (B) Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/ Automobiles Engineering in lieu of ITI.

Tech. Gr. III (Signal) :
(i) Matriculation plus ITI/Act. Apprenticeship in Electrician, Electrical Fitter, Wireman, Electronics, Information Technology, TV & Radio, Instrumentation, Computer, Computer Networking, Data Networking;
Or
(ii) 10 +2 with Physics and Maths;
Or
(iii) 03 (Three) year Diploma in Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Microprocessor, TV Engineering, Fibre Optical Communication, Telecommunication, Communication, Sound & TV Engineering, Industrial Control, Electronic Instrumentation, Industrial Electronics, Applied Electronics, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, Information Science/Technology, Computer Application, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Computer Technology.

Ticket Examiner :

Commercial Clerk :

Stenographer : 12th (+2stage) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/ University and for the skill test prescribed dictation speed of 80 W.P.M. duration time 10 minutes and transcription time is 50 minutes (English) and 65 minutes (Hindi)

Pharmacist : 10+2 in Science or its equivalent with 02 (two) years Diploma in Pharmacy and registration with Pharmacy Council of India or Registration with state Pharmacy Council
Station Master : A university degree or its equivalent.
Station Master : A university degree or its equivalent. Diploma in Rail Transport and management from the institute of Rail Transport will be an additional desirable qualification.

Junior Engineer (Signal) : Three years Diploma in
(a) Electrical/Electronics/Information Technology/Communication Engineering OR
(b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Electrical/Electronics/ Information Technology/Communication Engineering from a recognized university/ institute.

Junior Engineer :
(a)Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering or B.Sc in Civil Engineering of three years duration or
(b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.

Staff Nurse :
Certificate as Registered Nurse & Midwife having passed 03 years course in General Nursing and Midwifery form a school of Nursing or other Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council Or B.Sc( Nursing)

Note: The Indian Nursing Council has also laid down certain special concessions for the above courses in respect of Auxillary nurse-midwives. Midwives and ‘B’ grade nurses, by way of reduced course period etc. Candidates obtaining the qualification prescribed above, under these concessions will be eligible for recruitment.

Age limit: - The upper age limit will be 42 years for General candidates, 45 years for OBC candidates and 47 years for SC/ST candidates. The age will be reckoned as on 01.01.2018.
