The Sikkim Public Service Commission has fixed the date for Written Examinations for 21 (twenty one) posts of Assistant Engineer (Electrical) under Sikkim State Engineering (Electrical) Service and 01 (one) post of Nepali Translator under Sikkim Legislative Assembly Secretariat, through Direct Recruitment.
The date and Time are mentioned as under;
1. Assistant Engineer (Electrical) :
Paper-I :
Subject : General English & General Knowledge (MCQ & Conventional)
Time : 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
Date : 10.09.2017
Paper II :
Subject : Electrical Engineering (MCQ & Conventional)
Time : 01:00 PM – 04:00 PM
Date : 10.09.2017
2. Nepali Translator :
Paper-I :
Subject : General English, General Knowledge & Nepali
Time : 01:00 PM – 04:00 PM

General English :
Question of General English & General knowledge will be of (MCQ & Conventional Mode)
1. Comprehension of given passage.
2. Précis writing
3. Usages and vocabulary
4. Short essay
5. Translation
General Knowledge : General Awareness, current events, knowledge of State and Nation.
The admit cards for the same may be collected from 28th August 2017 to 9th September 2017 from the office of the SPSC, Old Tourism Complex, M.G. Marg on all working days between 11 am to 3 pm. After the scheduled dates no admit cards shall be issued.
Admission to all the stages of examination for which candidates are admitted by the Commission viz: Written Examination and Viva-Voce will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
If on verification at any point of time before or after the Written Examination and Viva-Voce, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination/post will be cancelled by the Commission.
About us :
Sikkim became an integral part of the Indian Union in May, 1975. The Constitutional Provision under Article 315 to have a Public Service Commission for the State was fulfilled by constituting a State Public Service Commission in the year 1978. The Public Commission has actually started functioning from 1982 with the appointment of the Chairman and deputation of the staff from the State Government.
Thereafter the Commission started to function in different rented buildings. At present the State Public Service Commission is located in the class rooms of the Old West Point School Complex.
