Research Associate Recruitment :
Project : Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR) funded project entitled ‘Urban Transition beyond Municipal Boundaries: A Comparative Spatial Analysis of the Peri-Urban Areas of Gurugram and Noida’

Essential qualification: Post-graduate degree in Geography/Sociology/Environmental Science/Geoinformatics/Planning with established skills in using and applying GIS and Remote Sensing. M.Phil. in a social science discipline and/or a prior experience of conducting field work is desirable.

Duration of engagement: A total of 18 Months (12 months at the first instance and extendable up to 6 months upon review of performance and contribution to the project)

Remuneration: Rs. 20,000 per month (consolidated)

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Project : : Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position for MLSA component in Coal India

WALK IN INTERVIEW
Job Title: SRF, MLSA
Duration: 10 July 2017 – 31 March 2018

Reporting to: Reporting to the team lead for all the aspect of the project

Job Responsibilities: The scope of work involves field data collection, project management, literature research, interaction with various stakeholders relevant to the mining sector, preparing reports, summaries, research articles, data entry and analysis and field visit to the study site.

The SRF will report all the findings and observations to the team lead on time.

Eligibility:
1) The incumbent must be a post graduate (M.Sc.) in Environmental Science with proficiency in data sampling, data interpretation, data analysis and report writing.
2) Must be proficient in MS-Excel, SPSS and should have good command over languages like English and Hindi.
3) Must be capable of going to the field for data collection in the remote project sites in the coal mines of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India.
4) Experience in organizational, communications and team working skills
5) Experience in stakeholder perception mapping
6) Must have knowledge of GIS and Remote sensing techniques.

Terms of Reference:
The SRF shall prioritize different alternative land use options proposed by the stakeholders on the basis of criteria like area, benefit to community and topography.
** The SRF shall work upon the alternative land use option vis a vis the environmental and social impacts like: stakeholders priority, cost, impact on soil, water and air, surrounding vegetation, economy and infrastructure.
** SRF shall propose a framework of the collection of data for the aforementioned.
** SRF shall also provide a detailed report stating the significance of DEFINITE 3.1 software for the said research.

The project requires intensive travel to remote locations in the state of Jharkhand.

Position: Research Assistant (The position is temporary for a period of one month.)
Project Title : Landscape Approach – Ganga River Basin Management

Eligibility:
M.Sc in Environmental Science, Water Science, Geoinformatics, A minimum of 65% or 7.0 CGPA in the bachelor/masters level

Job Description:
Research: Watershed Delineation, SWAT Analysis, Analysis of Land Use Land Cover using Arc GIS and IDRISI. The job may also require field data validation and site survey and communication with different partners and therefore outstation travel may be required.

Other responsibilities : Report Writing

Consolidated salary : Rs. 15000 per month
