NALCO Essay Contest:
1. There is no entry fee and contest is open to under-graduates and above.
2. The essay contest will be conducted in English, Odia and Hindi.
3. A contestant can submit only one entry and in one language only.
4. The contest is open to students of Ravenshaw University, Sailabala Women’s College, Utkal University, Rama Devi University, BJB Autonomous College, KIIT University & SOA University.
5. The essay must be an original piece of work. You may consult other sources, but all references must be credited with full citations and footnoted.
6. The essay must be word-processed using MS-Word.
7. The essay should be no MORE than 1500 words long, excluding references cited at the end of the essay. There should be no images.
8. Do not mention your name or institution on any page since the essay will be judged anonymously.
9. All pages must be numbered.
10. Maintain 1.5 Line spacing with use of following fonts only:
a. English: Times New Roman, 14
b. Odia: Akruti Orisarala or Kalinga, 14
c. Hindi: Mangal, 14
11. All entries must be mailed to us at cc_events AT nalcoindia.co.in with the subject line “NALCO Essay Contest 2017”. Mail must include the following attachments
a. Signed Entry Form, complete in all respect
b. Essay in .pdf format
c. Essay in .doc or .docx format
12. No Entries will be entertained after the last date (i.e. 25 March 2017).
13. Entries which do not adhere to the rules & instructions will be rejected.
14. Decision of the judges will be final.
15. There will be three (3) prizes in each category – 1st Prize carries a purse of Rs 20,000, 2nd Prize carries a purse of Rs. 10,000 and 3rd Prize carries a purse of Rs 5,000. Nalco reserves the right not to declare any award.
16. Winners will be communicated by e-mail & awarded on the occasion of Utkal Diwas Celebrations at Nalco Nagar, Bhubaneswar on 01 April 2017.
