AMY :
The scheme has been formulated to provide financial assistance to the magazines/periodicals dedicated for dissemination and promotion of local languages through their periodical issues. Many periodicals/magazines in Konkani, Marathi languages are being published in Goa regularly, thereby promoting these local languages. The publishers of such periodicals/ /magazines have to face financial hardships, despite of which, their publications are continued as social obligation.

Objectives :
(i) To provide financial assistance to the publishers of periodicals/magazines in local languages (Konkani or Marathi) published in Goa regularly.
(ii) To encourage such publishers for their continuous and qualitative contribution towards dissemination of local languages.

(iii) To extend financial assistance to those unregistered publishers who work for unity of society by way of such publication as an exceptional case. This exceptional case could be the issue on,

(a) commemoration of the event of national importance
(b) personality, immensely contributed to the nation/State or
(c) a magazine/periodical having very high standard of an exceptional quality in terms of its contents.

Eligibility :
(i) Financial assistance shall be provided to the Goan publishers of periodicals/ /magazines dedicated to Konkani (devnagri script) and Marathi language and published in Goa.

(ii) The publication shall be functioning and registered under the provisions of relevant state or central Act, for at least two years.(This sub-clause shall be relaxed in case of publication mentioned at clause V(iii) above).

(iii) It must have professional experience and expertise in the relevant fields having considerable literary merit.
(iv) The publication should not be primarily motivated for commercial profit, political, religious or for sectarian or emotive issues.

(v) It should focus on the development of languages, all forms of literature, art, culture, education, environment, natural heritage and contemporary socio-economic issues to strengthen the communal harmony, children literature, social awareness, science, counseling issues.

(vi) The publication should have at least 500 prints per issue. It is desirable that the contents of the publication should be original.

(vii) The magazines/periodicals shall consist of at least 30-50 pages for monthly issue, 50-70 pages for quarterly issue and up to 80 pages for yearly issue or special issue etc. The size of the issue may defer but shall be 21 x 28 cms., 19 x 26 cm or 13 x 20 cm. having A4 print area. The circulation shall be minimum 500 prints.

How to apply :
(i) The Directorate of Official Language shall release the advertisement every year inviting proposal from the interested publications.
(ii) Selected magazine/periodical, shall not be eligible for financial assistance up to the period of next five years.

(iii) The prescribed application form shall be made available by the department, which is available in the Directorate of Official Language (enclosed as Annexure “I”).

(iv) Duly filled-up application form along with documents such as
1. Organization profile i.e. name, address, details of functionaries etc.
2. Registration details
3. Copy of latest issue
4. Source of fund
5. Account statement of last one year shall be submitted within the stipulated period mentioned in the advertisement
