1. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
Describe familiar and appropriate strategies which may enable the students to learn language skills at the primary stage effectively. Explain with examples which of the skills can be developed through these strategies suggested by you.
OR
Discuss the importance of evaluation at primary stage. Explain the techniques through which you can test learners oral and written expressions.
2. Answer the folloing question in about 600 words :
What do you understand by learner centred approach for teaching children ? How would you use learner-centred approach for teaching language ? Give examples.
OR
Co-curricular activities can help in the development of more than one language skill. Describe in detail at least three such activities that have the potential for developing language skills.
3. Answer any four of the following in about 150 words each :
(a) Prepare a list of at least five books for students of upper primary stage to encourage reading for pleasure.
(b) How would you use dictation as a tool for remedial teaching for eliminating writing errors among learners ?
(c) What is the difference between speaking and reading aloud ? What are the features that are common to both of these ?
(d) Differentiate between the importance of teaching L - 1, L - 2 and L - 3.
(e) Frame at least four test items that can be used for testing learner's ability to express thoughts or ideas orally.
(f) What are punctuation marks ? Explain the use and importance of punctuation marks.

Identify some of the major problems that your students generally face in the course of language learning. What causes them ? Taking three such problems explain the remedial teaching would you use to eliminate them.

(a) What is the need for imparting environmental education at the primary stage ? Discuss.
(b) Discuss the considerations that should be kept in mind while formulating EVS curriculum for primary stage.
(c) What is meant by deficiency disease ? How deficiency diseases differ from infectious diseases ? Explain.
(d) Design one activity each for explaining the concepts of 'condensation and 'freezing'.
(e) What are the applications of air pressure in our life ? Describe the functioning of any two appliances which work on the principle of air pressure.
(f) Discuss the major competencies that should be achieved by all children at the primary stage in EVS.
4. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
How would you organise the outdoor activity for teaching - learning EVS concepts ? Describe with the help of suitable example.
