Pan-India Students’ Design Contest:
ICSE-2017 is organizing a Pan India Students’ Design Contest for Undergraduate and Post Graduate students primarily from technical campuses in India. The contest is an International endeavor aimed at attracting the brightest minds in the field of sports engineering.
Participants must form a team of 3-5 members from a single institute and the Team lead to register online with contact details before the closing date.
The participants will be provided with a set of 6 problem statements, from various sports applications, have to choose any one and develop a 250-word Abstract on how you would go for solving the problem and upload it along with details of team mates.
Shortlisted teams will then be required to upload the Full Submission before the specified closing date.
Important Dates:
** Final Submission deadline: Friday, March 31, 2017
** Submission material: A single zip file (having size restriction of maximum 10 MB) containing a 6-page paper in prescribed format and a 5-minute video clip in MP4 format.
** Submissions are not anonymous and should include all Team members and Mentors’ names and affiliations.
** Final results will be declared on 29th April 2017
Contest winners are automatically registered for poster presentation section during the conference and should plan to communicate their design to the visitors using compelling and effective visual design.
The poster should contain:
** The Team name, All Team members’ names, Institute affiliation, Mentor details
** The problem statement verbatim
** The perspective taken to address the design challenge
** A concise description of the proposed solution
** Clear illustrations of aspects of novelty in your proposed solution
** Demonstrable benefits
Specific guidelines for preparing posters:
** Each poster will have a maximum display space of A1 size (594 x 841 mm or 23.4 x 33.1) approximately.
** Audiovisual and computing equipment will not be supplied. Power outlets will not be available.
** Pushpins for poster fixing will be provided, you may like to bring other material like velcro.
Prizes:
** 1st Prize: equivalent 400 USD
** 2nd prize: equivalent 300 USD
** 3rd prize: equivalent 200 USD
** 5 other consolation prizes, each equivalent 100 USD
Abstract Submission :
Medium of communication is English. Abstract is a purely text format document written in simple English compiled within 250-word limit.
It should bring out the essence of the suggested solution and highlight the novelty of the work. At the time of Abstract submission following details will also be required to be furnished online.
** Choice of the particular problem statement
** Name, contact details of all the team members
** Name, contact details of all the mentors
** Scan of all documental proof of photo-identity, affiliation for all Team members and Mentor(s) as well as NOC that may be necessary as per eligibility conditions as one single pdf file within limit of 300 kb and upload the same.
Additional requirements :
** Submission must be entirely the original work of the participant – whether it is of an individual or team (excluding use of open source or other code and resources created for common use).
** Submission must not contain any advertisement or solicitation
** Submission must not contain anything that is or may be construed as
(i) threatening, harassing, degrading or hateful;
(ii) defamatory;
(iii) fraudulent or tortious;
(iv) obscene, indecent or otherwise objectionable; or
(v) protected by copyright, trademark or proprietary right without the prior consent of owner of such right;
** Submission must not contain any material that would give rise to criminal or civil liability or that encourages conduct that constitutes a criminal offence
** Submission must otherwise completely comply in all respects with those prevailing rules and policies of the country. Any and all works created during the contest are developed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
