Physiotherapy Entrance Test :
B.P.T.Syllabus :
A) Physics (25% weightage) :
Introduction and measurement, Description of motion in one, two & three dimensions. Laws of motion, work, energy and power , rotational motion, heat and thermodynamics, oscillations, waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity: thermal, chemical and magnetic effects of currents.
Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and alternating currents, Electromagnetic waves, Rays optics and optical Instruments, Electrons and photons, atoms, molecules and nuclei, Solids and Semiconductor devices.
B) Chemistry ( 25% weightage) :
Atoms, molecules and chemical arithmetic elements, their occurrence and extraction, states of matter, atomic structures, chemical families- periodic properties, bonding and molecular structure. Carbon and its compounds. Energetic, Chemical equilibrium, redox Reactions, Rates of Chemical Reactions, Chemistry of Heavier metals, Structure and shapes of Hydrocarbons, preparation and properties of hydrocarbons, purification and characterization of organic compounds, Molecules of life, Atomic structure and chemical bonding.
Solid state, Solutions, Chemical thermodynamics, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Organic chemistry based on functional groups, Chemistry of representatives Elements, Transition Metals including Lanthanides, Synthetic and natural polymers, Surface chemistry, Bio molecules, Chemistry of biological process, Chemistry in action.
C) Biology (Botany & Zoology)(25% weightage : The living world, Unity of life, Diversity of life, organism and environment, Multicellularity : Structure and function – plant life and animal life, Continuity of Life, Origin and Evolution of life, Applications of biology.
D) English (25% weightage) : Language & Comprehension, Basic English Grammar and its uses including parts if speech, tenses, active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech.
M.P.T.Syllabus :
A) Exercise Therapy & Biomechanics :
Exercise Therapy- Mechanical Principle of movement, Skeletal Basis of Movement, Musculosketal Basis of Movement, Classification of Movements, Simple Machines, Goniometry, Suspension therapy, Resistance Exercise, Stretching, Hydrotherapy, Traction, Functional re-education, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Relaxation and therapeutic Gymnasium, Manual Muscle Testing (M.M.T), Neuromuscular incoordination, Postures Balance and Gait, Peripheral Joint Mobilization, Hydrotherapy.
Biomechanics and kinesiology: Mechanics,joint structure and function,Muscle structure and function, Biomechanics of shoulder complex,Elbow complex, Wrist and hand complex,Hip joint,knee joint, ankle and foot complex,vertebral column,Gait and Posture.
B) Electrotherapy :
Low frequency currents, high frequency currents, Interferential therapy E.M. Spectrum, laws of transmission, reflection, refraction, absorption, attenuation. SWD, ultrasound, U.V.R., I.F.T., I.R.R., LASER, M.W.D., Russian currents, paraffin wax bath, cryotherapy, fluidotherapy, modified direct currents, diadynamic currentsintermittent pneumatic therapy.
C) Physical Assessment & Manipulative Skills,Physiotherapy in Orthopaedic conditions, Physiotherapy in Sports Medicine Physical Assessment & Manipulative Skills:
General principles of human development and maturation, Electro diagnosis, Evaluation and Therapy region wise: Shoulder, Forearm-Complex, Wrist and Hand, Hip, Knee, Ankle and Foot, Assessment of cardio pulmonary dysfunction, Assessment of Hand, Basics in manual therapy and application in clinical reasoning.
Motor Learning and Motor Control, Assessment of movement dysfunction-higher functions/cranial nerves/altered muscle strength/power/balance/endurance/tone, spasticity, incoordination, abnormal deep and superficial reflexes/limb-length discrepancy
