    Online Post Matric Scholarships disbursements through ePass application is one of the important welfare measures of the Government of Tripura which is aimed at the educational upliftment of students Below poverty line(BPL), initiated by the Department of NEC and ST Welfare .

    The system links all welfare departments, treasury, databases of Secondary Schools Certificate (SSC), colleges and banks to disburse scholarships. This system enables online transfer of Post Matric scholarship money to students below the Poverty Line, wherein directly tuition fee reimbursement is made to colleges and maintenance fee to the student after due verifications into respective bank accounts. Processing of students' applications for scholarships, sanctioning and passing of bills for disbursement are enabled in the system.

    The website will remain open for Online registration / Scholarship Application for POSTMATRIC ST SCHEME from 23rd October 2014 to 20th of November 2014.

    The website will remain open for Online registration / Scholarship Application for NEC SCHEME from 1st November 2014 to 30th of November 2014.

    For PostMatric Scheme(ST) Only:
    Online Application fill up will be applicable for West Tripura District & Khowai District only.
    Online application not required for those students who are already submitted Post Matrict Scholarship Application Form to their concerned Institutions.
    All Head of Institution of West Tripura District & Khowai District are request to contact their concerned District Welfare Officer/Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer for User ID & Password & other information.
    Applicants are requested to submit a printed copy after successfully submission of online application to the concerned institute with original family income certificate issued by the SDM/DC or salary certificate issued by the DDO in case of Government employee.

    NEC SCHEME :
    Subject to specified conditions mentioned elsewhere, the general conditions of eligibility are stated' below:-
    1. The stipends and book grants are open only to a candidate who is a permanent resident of any of the States in the North East.
    2. The certificate to this effect obtained from the Deputy Commissioner of the district in which the candidate is a permanent resident must be produced by the candidate.
    3. Certificate from any other authority will not be accepted. However, for SC/ST applicants, the SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority can be considered as PRC
    4. The candidate should possess the relevant qualification from any recognized institution. An original certificate from the Institution of study must be produced by the candidate.
    5. The student must not be in receipt of any other financial assistance from any other source, except National or State Merit Scholarship. A sponsored candidate under full employment during the period of study shall not be eligible to receive the stipend.
    6. Financial assistance of stipend/book grant shall be admissible to students taking admission in the courses specified hereinafter in all institutes recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development/respective Ministry of the Government of India.
    7. The stipend/book grant shall be tenable for the prescribed duration of a course. A student failing to pass in a particular year shall not receive further stipend till he/she passes the specific year of the course. The Institution shall certify to that effect and make specific recommendations thereto.
    8. In-service candidates are not covered by this scheme.
    9. The maximum marks for the grant of stipend should be 75% for General /OBC/MOBC and 60% for SC/ST candidates in the relevant qualifying examination for Diploma, Degree and Post-Graduate courses.
    10. Selection of students form M.Phil. and Ph.D should be done on the basis of topic of research which has relevance to N.E. Region.
    11. Selection will be made on the basis of merit in all cases

    Question : What is NEC stipend & Bookgrant?
    Answer : These stipends and book grants are available for studies in India only and shall be awarded by the North Eastern States from the fund allotted by North Eastern Council Secretariat, Shillong.

    Question : what are the components of a NEC Stipend & Book grant?
    Answer : A NEC stipend & Book grant has two components namely stipend & Book grant.

    Question : How much book grant will I get?
    Answer : The book grant will be dependent on the course you pursue. Diploma Rs.1,000/-P.A., Degree Rs.1,400/-P.A., P.G Level Rs.2,000/-P.A., M.Phil & Ph.D Rs.3,000/-P.A.

    Question : How can I know my scholarship status??
    Answer : Please visit the epass website at http://tripuraepass.cgg.gov.in and click on the application status button given in the tab of the web page. furnish you application ID and other details as required. Upon furnish the details you will get a detailed statement on your application.

    Answer : unless the date for registration has been extended you cannot register as the epass portal will not allow you to register. Please register in time to avoid disappointment !

    Question : what is the meaning of verification in the scholarship process?
    Answer : The process of verification is essentially meant to check whether the particulars given in the scholarship form are correct as per the documents enclosed.

    Verification by the Verification Officer: The verification officer appointed by the Higher education Department will conduct physical and documentary verification and submit his report either accepting or rejecting the scholarship application.
    Scrutiny by the Departmental selection committee : Before each and every application is taken up for sanction it is the responsibility of the Departmental Selection committee to satisfy himself of the verification by the college Principal and the verification officer and finally sanction the scholarship.

    For getting NEC stipend

    I am a student of 2nd year Diploma Engineering of TIT, Agartala. Last year i.e. during the 1st year I am not submitted application for NEC stipend. Can I submit this year for NEC stipend ?
