Job Description :-
** Direct and execute strategic Merchant acquisition strategies, best practices, and initiatives that support aggressive improvements in number of SPs on boarded with 4 fold criteria – Stability, certainty, availability, price acceptability. Supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, improved coordination, delivery, pricing, lead-times, payment, risk compliance and other areas are also part of the criteria.
** Execute category SP acquisition strategies including development and execution of monthly goals in selection of suppliers in collaboration with a cross-functional teams
** Conduct supplier negotiations of pricing and business related terms and be responsible for ongoing supplier management.
** Actively seek ways to streamline business processes; research and provide information on retail and ecommerce industry category trends and best practices.
** Develop negotiation strategies, gain alignment from stakeholders, lead cross-functional, category-based internal negotiation teams, and implement appropriate supplier risk analysis. Directly negotiate with suppliers that require a detailed strategic plan and have a direct correlation with operational needs and goals.
** Implement supplier management programs with key suppliers including metrics, performance goals, and improvement initiatives. Monitor supplier performance to ensure that delivery dates and technical and contractual requirements are met. Act as the internal point of contact for supplier management and complaint resolution and conduct regular supplier meetings and implement improvement strategies with suppliers

Roles and Responsibilities :
** This position will be responsible for acquisition of Merchants (aka) Suppliers (SP) of products and services for ecommerce in Rural India.
** The 3 type of Suppliers/Merchants are – SMSE , Manufacturers and ecommerce Aggregators.
** The individual will be expected to develop short-term and long term strategies that align with the SP on boarding goals / targets of the Company.
** Every SP on boarding will have result in the required no of products identified for Rural Consumption in India.
** The acquisition strategy and selling points are different for different type of SP. This individual is expected to assimilate the unique selling points quickly and hit the road as quickly as possible.
** As key account Sourcing and Procurement, this individual will be responsible for negotiating price and business terms, coordinating, and assuring that assigned product categories and services are on boarded at the lowest possible cost; and assessing near-term and long term plans to establish that supplier priorities are balanced with our business needs.
** In consulting with Sr. Management and other subject matter experts, the individual will develop alternative solutions, advise on options, risks, total cost of ownership, and business impacts.
