Sainik School Ghorakhal, Nainital is an English Medium Residential Public School affiliated to CBSE and run under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society, prepares boys for 10+2 Examination, as well as for entry into National Defence Academy to join Armed Forces as an Officer.

ADMISSION FOR BOYS IN CLASS VI & IX ONLY
Date of Birth :
For Class VI - Born between 02 Jul 2004 to 01 Jul 2005 (both days inclusive)
For Class IX - Born between 02 Jul 2001 to 01 Jul 2002 (both days inclusive)

Reservation :
67% of seats are reserved for the boys of Uttarakhand State
33% seats are offered for the boys of Other States
(including reservation of 25% seats for Defence personnel (including ex-servicemen) and 22.5% seats for SC and ST boys)

Registration Charges :
For General/Defence Category - Rs 600/-
For SC/ST Category - Rs 450/-
Note :- Above Registration Fee (as category-wise applicable) will be remitted to the school by depositing at any State Bank of India Branch through Challan Form attached with the Application Form. After depositing the fee in the State Bank of India, School copy of Challan Form will be sent alongwith the Application Form and Applicant copy of Challan Form will be retained by the candidate for future reference. Please note that no Bank Drafts/Cheques/Pay orders /IPos will be accepted by the school alongwith the Application Form.

Scheme of Written Examination :
(i) Examination comprises of two papers namely Mathematics & Language and Intelligence Test of V class standard for entry to VI class. The medium of Entrance Examination for class VI will be in Hindi or English

(ii) Two papers namely Mathematics & Science and English & Social Studies of VIII class standard for entry to IX class. The medium of Entrance Examination for class IX shall be in English only.

Written Examination Centres :
Subject to availability of sufficient candidates, written examination Centres will be at Almora, Bareilly, Dehradun, Ghorakhal, Ghorakhpur, Kotdwar, Lucknow, Pithoragarh, Roorkee, Srinagar (Garhwal) and Rudrapur (Udham Singh Nagar). Allotment of examination Centre will be at the discretion of the school.

How to apply :
Application form of All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination for Class VI and IX for the session 2015-16 are available free of cost at the school counter wef 15 Oct 2014 to 29 Nov 2014. The application form can also be downloaded from the School website www.ssghorakhal.org upto 29 Nov 2014. Desirous candidates may send self addressed envelope 11”x 5” affixed with postage stamp of Rs 27/- for obtaining application form.

Important Note :
Application form complete in all respects must reach to The Principal, Sainik School Ghorakhal, Distt. Nainital, Uttarakhand - 263156 on or before 06 Dec 2014 by Speed or Registered Post only. NO COURIER SERVICE IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS SCHOOL. School will not be responsible for any postal delay or Courier service.

Courier services are not available from Nainital/Haldwani to Sainik School Ghorakhal and school will not be responsible for Application Form sent by Courier service. PLEASE SEND ALL MAIL BY POST/ SPEED POST ONLY.

Detailed marks list will be supplied after 31 May 2015 to all the parents/legal guardians. All parents/guardians are requested to send a self addressed envelope affixed postage worth Rs 22/- for sending the Marks by Registered post alongwith the Application Form. If the self addressed envelope with postage stamps of Rs 22/- not found attached alongwith the Application Form, the marks will be sent by ordinary post and school will not be responsible for non-receipt or for any delay in delivery of mark sheet. Copy of the answer sheet will not be provided.
